Who knew?

We were rummaging through the closets looking for things to get rid of and spotted some unopened Lego sets (that she bought intending to send to nephews but never did) from around 2008. Just for giggles I went to see how much they'd fetch on eBay and nearly spit up my breakfast.

A very detailed VW Beetle for $800...
A Corner Cafe (part of a modular buildings series) ..... $1700

Nah...can't be.

Found a site devoted to collecting and investing in Legos. Yup, the prices were right.

Morning

rant /Mine was kind of meh - drove all the way to PA to break my Aunt Bev out for the day and find out her ward was under a quarantine that started Friday. Sadly the person who has her POA either didn't tell the nurses the right numbers to call or told them nothing so when nurses tried to get a hold of us they couldn't. Now if someone would finally put a boot in my Aunt Jo's ass we could get the POA away from the person who is not related to us and doesn't care that would be great :\ /end rant

GOOD. Another good vote for the right to not live in fear of domestic abusers owning guns... NOW THAT's gun grabbing!

I am surprised that this one wasn't ruled as a states right issue -- as in it's the states right to determine who is a corrupt politician.

Well that is part of it. The decision is incredibly complex in how it tries to disentangle McDonnell's actions as governor from his actions as a citizen. I suspect it also has something to do with the fact that he was tried under federal statute rather than state ones.. how are Virginia's laws on public corruption btw?

In any case, he will likely be re-tried with jury instructions about the federal statutes. The thing with the stocks is probably still enough to put him into prison.

This is downright scary.

He claims his role model is Obama? More like Stalin or Pol Pot.

Maybe he might want to look at Obama's scant use of the EO.

Was this a root canal?

So, in light of the McDonnell case, can we expect a release of Don Siegelman?

His term should just about be up at this point

THAT was my thought when I heard about the decision. The Siegelman case is so egregious that multiple attorneys general have called his prosecution to be wrong.

My hope is that in some afterlife that Karl Rove will be in a place that makes the worst prison of this world seem like Rove's idea of pleasure.
