The unthinkable has happened.

I now have reason to believe the government of the United States has fallen.

It seems pretty obvious in hindsight that *something* must have happened to cause the election results to be vastly different from what was being reported and projected.

Nate Silver just couldn't have been that wrong.

Our friends on the right have always feared the "One World Order" and the United Nations - too bad they couldn't see the forest for the trees. The New World will be answering to the Kremlin and not the White House.

A favorite theme of mine is this - every elected official everywhere in the United States takes an oath that contains the words "Preserve, Protect and Defend the Constitution of the United States". That oath is now derelict.

For decades now, the United States has always been the watcher of democracy. Elections happening everywhere else in the world have always had neutral monitors sent by Uncle Sam to make sure everything went as planned. Pity they couldn't watch their own backyard as effectively.

Mr. Trump is a demagogue, but perhaps worse than that, he's a Russian-controlled puppet. With each appointment he makes, with each tweet, with each more histrionic statement - it's clear that he's undermining United States policy, precedent, businesses, and government. January 20 is going to be a wet dream come true for Vladimir.

I'd sure love to see his tax returns now - what businesses does he own? Where are his investments? What kind of links to overseas interests are in his back pocket? I suppose we will never know.

But the question is not even "what do we do now?" I believe we may be facing an unthinkable scenario. Would the military act to remove the President and do what their oath says they must? The acts and actions we have witnessed are not those of a patriot, or even an American. These are the actions of a truly depraved individual, one who is not even likely to have charted this course of action.

We now have 38 days left. I can't even bring myself to ponder what January 21 will bring.

Kanye West stopped by Trump Tower on Tuesday during his trip to New York City.

The rapper voiced his support for President-elect Donald Trump at multiple concerts after the election but said he did not vote.

The hip-hop star — who was recently hospitalized for over a week following an alarming nervous breakdown — jetted to Manhattan on Monday in hopes of finding a psychiatrist to add to his medical team, TMZ reports.

Reeeeeeally don't think he's gonna find the kind of help he needs in that building.

....

Oh.. OH FUCK WHICH POSITIONS ARE LEFT TO FILL?!

TriSec, the concerns that you express in the blog are valid.

Let me share a few articles.

From the Forward: It's Trump's America - and the Era of the Pitchforks Has Just Begun

From the Washington Post: 'Real America is in its own bubble'

The Second Coming by William Butler Yeats, written in the wake of World War One describes some of the dread that I feel.

Well I've been thinking about this today and I actually think instead of dealing with this kind of shit, since they're so fucking hellbent on dismantling these agencies from the inside anyways, every single rank-and-file worker in every single department should walk out the moment he takes office. If they want to ruin this country, they can do it without the help of people who have worked in these jobs for years and decades as a career.

My only concern is that we will see things get very bad quickly. This could be disastrous in the case of the intelligence agencies. Mike Pence, whom I dislike and distrust, does seem to accept daily intelligence briefings.'

Still, I see the logic in doing this. I fear that a lot of our fellow Americans who supported Trump will be very upset soon.

Hi Will. I did see, and I am particularly grateful. I am deeply perturbed that we did not have Last Rites administered. Mum did take communion about 48 hours before she passed. Yours were the only prayers uttered.

This was a congregational prayer with some 40 souls praying for your Mom and others who passed recently. I am shocked that no clergy prayed for her other than my rabbi.

No, they fired Wonder Woman. All the honorary ambassadors are fictional characters. Like, Whiney the Pooh.

Also, Wonder Woman isn't an American. I think her passport might be from Greece.

Did you just drag Winnie the Pooh or was that a typo?

If she weren't American (and yes I know she's an Amazonian) she wouldn't be in the AF in uniform. Wonder Woman is a role model for women everywhere no matter the nationality.

Wonder Woman is a fictional character who lives life on her own terms. She is a better role model for women than any of Trump's spokeswomen -- who might need to be under the influence of a magic lasso to tell the truth.

The last paragraph of the article:

Honorary ambassadors — as opposed to goodwill ambassadors like Nicole Kidman and Anne Hathaway — are fictional characters. The U.N. previously tapped Winnie the Pooh to be an honorary Ambassador of Friendship in 1998 and Tinker Bell as the honorary Ambassador of Green in 2009.

Here is an article appropriate to the theme of today's blog, courtesy of Mother Jones.

Time to Fight Like Hell

Authoritarian movements rise by dividing us and can only last so long as they do. My heart broke on election night to see my Twitter feed full of quotes like "I knew my country hated me, but I didn't know how much," or "I don't recognize my country." In the days after the election, there was a surge of hate crimes. Parents had to answer questions like: What will happen to my friends? What will happen to us? Why does he hate us?

This is a dark hour, and to say otherwise would be a lie. It is—by orders of magnitude—the worst electoral outcome our country has faced in many generations. But let us not forget those who have pushed back already. The women born before the passage of the 19th Amendment, who struggled against infirmity and efforts to suppress their vote to get to the polls. The myriad Latinos and Asian Americans who registered for the first time to repel the hate that too many whites voted for. The African Americans who stood up for equality at a far greater rate than any other group, as they always have.

Trump appealed to America's worst impulses. Now it's on all of us to show, to prove, that this is not all that America is. This is a time when we're called on to do things we may not have done before. To face down bigotry and hate, and to reach beyond our Facebook feeds in trying to do so. To fight disinformation instead of meeting it with the same. To listen to the anxieties of Trump supporters and the critiques of allies and to learn.
