Strange doing in Alabama. Hmm the Alabama AG who quashed an impeachment investigation of the governor is appointed to fill Sessions' seat in the Senate. By the same governor.

Morning....
Surprised there were no left lane yahoos this morning, or anyone in the left lane. Even though it was clean down to bare pavement.

So, my next door neighbor, who is not spending her first winter in the north, is busily pouring hot water down her back stairs in an attempt to melt the snow.

I should get her a "Zamboni" T-shirt.

Good Morning.

I have to say I am not tired of winning. I meant to post this yesterday.

A U.S. federal judge on Wednesday upheld an Obama-era rule designed to avoid conflicts of interests when brokers give retirement advice, in a possible setback for President Donald Trump's efforts to scale back government regulation.

The stinging 81-page ruling comes just days after Trump ordered the Labor Department to review the "fiduciary" rule — a move widely interpreted as an effort to delay or kill the regulation.

The decision by Chief Judge Barbara Lynn for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas is a stunning defeat for the business and financial services industry groups that had sought to overturn it.

I read it was the opposite. the Gov put him in the senate to squash the investigation.

Either way it was done to stop it. I will have to ask my Alabama contact to esplain.

Scoop, unless Harpers exhumed his rotting corpse, they didn't Eherlichman last year. He's been dead since 1999. The quotes are from 1994.

Besides the clumsy handling of the cameras, it sounds like they left the mic in the camera bag.

Also - that interviewer looks like he'd bust a hole in the ceiling if someone yelled "BOO!". I've never seen such palpable unease in a situation like this.

WEkept it and bumped up the MBS. IT would be too much of a hassle to change emails after over 10 years -- Plus Xfinity offers free wifi for internet subscriber ion a slew of places.

Still saving a lot of money

Do you have an over-the-air antenna for the local channels?

FIOS (the fiber optic network) is not available in our neighborhood. We're getting 2 mbps internet with the cable and don't have to change email addresses in a ton of places, so that's all good for me.

If we start having internet problems, or data usage surcharges, then we'll start looking around.

FiOS has taken a lot of flack because they never wired in all the places they promised. There are still a number of NYC neighborhoods that don't have FiOS and they were supposed to wire the whole city, and they only just started wiring the city of Boston where they were supposed to be a decade ago. It seems like they cherry-pick the wealthy neighborhoods than seem to ignore those not as well off.

And let's not forget;

Let’s review:

1. Donald Trump has frequently expressed admiration for Vladimir Putin, viewing him as a “strong” leader who Trump “admires.” Trump has also given wildly differing statements on his personal relationship with Putin.

2. Trump has, on multiple occasions, suggested a weakening of the NATO alliance.
Despite this, Trump previously expressed support for Ukraine.

3. After Trump hired Paul Manafort, a man who had worked for—and may still be working for—pro-Russian forces seeking to destroy the democratic government of Ukraine, Trump’s position on Ukraine changed to one that is far more friendly to Russia.

4. Trump campaign staff, including former Rumsfeld assistant J. D. Gordon, halted the implementation of pro-Ukraine language in the GOP platform, and insisted on language that was much more supportive of Russia after saying they had to speak directly to Trump about the policy.

5. One week after the change was written into the GOP platform, emails hacked from the DNC were released through Wikileaks. Both government and independent investigators have identified the hackers as being associated with the Russian government.

6. Donald Trump suggested that Russia might also hack Hillary Clinton’s email server and recover 30,000 emails (which are not “missing,” but were personal emails deleted by a team of lawyers who reviewed the server).

7. Trump later claimed he was being sarcastic, but within a week of his request, further hacks took place at the DCCC and the Hillary Clinton campaign. These hacks have also been identified as coming from Russian sources.

8. Both Manafort and Trump issued denials that they had anything to do with the changes to the Republican platform, despite the many witnesses and despite having made no objection to the news as it was reported at the time.

9. Trump, in an interview, seemed not only confused about the two-year-old invasion of the Ukraine, but gave apparently contradictory indications that, were he elected, he would cede the occupied Crimea to Russia, and that the Russians would withdraw from the Ukraine.

Copied from Daily Kos.

Long-term, I will create several GMail addresses (beyond the ones I have now) and slowly move everything over. I hate the GMail web interface (just used to Outlook, I guess), so I will need to set about adding those email accounts to Outlook.
