This is the year City Paper and the National Harbor picked up the much enjoyed Peeps Diorama Contest that used to be done by the Washington Post. It certainly has brought some unexpected themes together.

He never really wanted to do this job - you have to work 24/7 and he doesn't want that.

I wish a golf ball would hit Trump in the head. I know it won't do much damage since there's not much up there.

Hello, bloggers!

After three days of subbing this week, I am off the next two days.

I just had a phone interview for a position in the city. A school district near TriSec sent me an e-mail that they will contact candidates for interviews in about a week or two.

As for Trump, I am reminded of what Bob Kincaid of the Head On Radio Network has stated. All the safeguards to prevent an idiot, a demagogue and someone under foreign influence from obtaining the presidency -- up to and including the Electoral College - have failed. We are in unchartered waters. So, we have to try to find our way forward. Let us remember that we do not need to do it alone.

After shoveling a few feet of snow, few things will warm you up or fill you as much as a deep dish pizza. Also, if we go by the pizza purists, no one in the U.S. is doing it properly.

I sometimes would go to Pizzeria Uno, although they aren't here anymore. When I was going into Manhattan, there weren't too many pizza places near the outplacement service. I had to walk to Grand Central one day to get a slice. Otherwise, there's only Sbarro on 33rd and 7th and the overpriced places in Penn Station. If anyone comes to Long Island, I will recommend Umberto's which has several locations on Long Island besides the original in New Hyde Park.

Oh, BTW, an update. I have taken a temp position at AMC and am going back on Tuesday. It will only be part-time so I can still work on my job search. At least I can see what the industry future is when I go to NAB in Las Vegas and have better ideas for my job search. I do realize my big problem is procrastination which I have seen more often than not. Wish me luck going forward.

what the fuck.. they're justifying it by claiming Bannon was there as a check against Flynn.

That's what I heard too. Wasn't he there before Flynn?

Yep. Giving Bannon a seat on that council was one of the first moves Trump made when he took office. Flynn wasn't even confirmed at that point.

If anything, this was a result of HR McMaster replacing Flynn. He's not having any of this shit dealing with Trump's purity agents, and he's respectable enough to know that Bannon shouldn't even be in the fucking room.
I have a dark feeling that this is a soft military coup on foreign policy.

I thought of that when I heard a few things -- especially what Haley said at the UN today. and then there is this from Jennifer Rubin. She still a conservative, So I forgive her hopefulness on the other 5 points.

Five reasons why Bannon leaving the National Security Council matters
Fourth, Bannon’s departure is a hugely reassuring sign that McMaster — perhaps with assistance from Defense Secretary Jim Mattis, Homeland Security Secretary John F. Kelly and, if he perks up, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson — has the gravitas to take charge of the process of making and presenting foreign policy to the president. We badly need direction on everything, including Syria, Iran and China. Developing and implementing foreign policy will only work if these professionals cooperate and have a smooth process for raising issues and formulating policy.

I am glad that gin-soaked DT* is outta there, but I think we may be in deep waters.

Why do I bring this up?

Do we have a military going rogue? it looks that way.
The U.S. commander in Afghanistan who ordered use of the "mother of all bombs" to attack an Islamic State stronghold didn't need President Donald Trump's approval, Pentagon officials said Friday.

The officials said Gen. John Nicholson has standing authority to use the bomb, which is officially called the Massive Ordnance Air Burst bomb, or MOAB, the largest non-nuclear bomb ever dropped in combat. The bomb had been in Afghanistan since January.

This is fucked.

I fear that - much like the Party in George Orwell's 1984 - the only things that the Trump administration cares about our power and wealth. In the pursuit of such goals, openness and truth will be among the earliest casualties. I doubt that they will be the last. We may see the Trump administration stop explaining many of its actions.

Filled that out. Agencies I want to get rid of DHS. DEA, to reform the EOP.

My answers to the essay questions.

Q: PLEASE SHARE YOUR IDEA, INCLUDING THE PROPOSAL AND BENEFITS. IF NECESSARY, YOU MAY INCLUDE A LINK TO A MORE DETAILED REPORT OR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
A: Yeah, on reforming EOP, getting your lying, grifting, nepotistic, foolish ass out of there, Cheetolini. You are not a real president, you are a puppet.

Q: LIST ANY SPECIFIC PROGRAMS
A: Your evil, xenophobic attempts at ethnic cleansing by building a wall and denying refugees safe harbor.

Q: PLEASE SHARE YOUR IDEA, INCLUDING THE PROPOSAL AND BENEFITS. IF NECESSARY, YOU MAY INCLUDE A LINK TO A MORE DETAILED REPORT OR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION.
A: America would benefit mightily if you resigned and upon your resignation, you and your entire family of amoral hucksters were arrested for treason.

Q: Do you have any management reform ideas, such as acquisition/procurement reform?
A: Yes, you resign you traitorous piece of filth.

Q: Do you have any other ideas for reorganizing the Federal government?
A: Getting rid of your entire administration and replacing it with someone who has a clue.

Ok, time.

I was looking into something and I fell into a rabbit hole. I heard that Spicer lives in Alexandria (not our zip code) and I was trying to see what neighborhood he lived in.

Did my searching and came across this article from last August.

Read it for the Sphincter and the swallowing of the Cinnamon Orbits -- worth the price of admission. I came across this strangeness:
Last week, Last week, a handful of journalists gathered at the RNC headquarters on Capitol Hill for barbecue, beer and an off-the-record briefing from Spicer. As he launched into his welcome, several of the guests gasped — not at anything he’d said, but at what was happening on the three flat-screen TVs behind him: A man who had been scaling Trump Tower in Manhattan with suction cups had been apprehended, yanked through a window on the 21st floor.

Unfazed, Spicer began regaling the journalists with a laundry list of party accomplishments: the number of doors knocked on, voters targeted, supporters “touched.” It sounded to many of the journalists present like he was preparing for a day when Trump might try to blame the RNC for an eventual loss. When guests pressed him on whether the party might ever cut Trump loose, Spicer punted, according to several people present: “We’ll see what the situation is like on October 15th.”
Boldface mine.

I went to see what was happening on October 15th of last year. This is what I found. The video is very interesting.

I am trying to figure out why Spicer mentioned October 15th. IT seems so random and yet, a little too specific.

Raine, I found this article on the MOAB in the New Yorker. Here is a very interesting bit:

The decision to deploy the first moab also revealed the Trump Administration’s revised chain of command. With the approval of U.S. Central Command, Nicholson called in the strike, a reflection of how President Trump has shifted major wartime decisions to the U.S. military brass. Pressed on whether he had ordered the mission, Trump told reporters, on Thursday, “What I do is authorize my military.” President Obama, a lawyer, was deeply involved in decision-making on all major military actions. Trump has deflected decisions to the generals who hold key positions in his inner circle or who are in the field.

Because they believed he was a "successful businessman" who would "turn things around". Ah, forget it, they voted for him because he was going to keep the dark-skinned people down.
