Does this mean they admit it?

Good Morning.

I surely don't have to ask the rhetorical question "Do we all remember the Sandy Hook massacre?"

I'm sure we also know the answer to the question "Remember when the gun-nuts said it was a hoax?"

Amazingly true, after the shooting, some gun-nuts and others on the right came up with an elaborate alternate worldview that the shootings never happened. I never looked, never read any of the hoax material, and never cared.

December 14, 2012 remains a clear dividing line for me. On this date, the NRA and their supporters decided that murdering 20 babies in the name of the sacred second amendment was OK by them. My only question now is, "That place in the human body where the soul goes...is yours filled up with human excrement, or DOG excrement?" But I digress.

It is somewhat interesting that this morning there's some news that one of the perpetrators of the Sandy Hook hoax now admits that he had a "psychosis" in a sworn deposition as part of a defamation case.

InfoWars host and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones said his false statements after tragic mass shootings were caused by a "psychosis."

Jones made the claim during a sworn deposition in the defamation case brought against him by family members of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims.

The three-hour deposition was posted online Friday by the Texas law firm representing some of the Sandy Hook families, Kaster Lynch Farrar & Ball, LLP.

Jones, who is facing eight lawsuits regarding his comments on the Newtown, Connecticut shooting, is accused of perpetuating conspiracy theories that the tragedy was a staged event and that parents lied about their children's deaths.

The lawsuits "seek to hold Mr. Jones accountable for his vile assertions that the Sandy Hook parents were lying about what happened to their children," according to the firm's website.

In the three-hour disposition, Jones said that "the public doesn’t believe what they’re told anymore" because of corruption in the government and the "mainstream media."

"And I, myself, have almost had like a form of psychosis back in the past where I basically thought everything was staged, even though I’m now learning a lot of times things aren’t staged," Jones said.

So a key member of the right-wing noise machine admits what we all know to be true; he's mentally ill.

The question now is: Is that good enough? I submit that it isn't.

Good morning, bloggers!!

I suspect that Alex Jones is lying to avoid a massive payout in a lawsuit. Even if this claim of psychosis is true, I am not sure it clears him of moral responsibility. I am not familiar enough with the law to comment on his legal culpability.

In the end, I fear that we have some political actors and their allies who are only concerned with the accumulation of power and wealth. It is sad to see what we have become as a nation.
