I actually had a full and decent night's sleep.

How was your weekend?

Let's get this week started.

I posted this in yesterday's blog but will repost here.

Good morning, bloggers!!!

I hope that you are doing well. I had a quiet weekend of getting online lesson ready.

As a sign of spring, I mowed yesterday. We are expecting snow mixed with rain.

Fortunately, my family and friends here are practicing social distancing. However, when I do have to go to a store, I notice many people not taking any precautions. I see people with no masks, no gloves, standing together. They are doing this even with stores limiting the numbers of people in and out.

I suspect that Virginia's governor is right in having the stay-at-home order until June 10th. I expect orders for May 1st to go longer.

As for Herror tRump's efforts to have the economy open soon, I think that there will be a push back. The governor's of many states will not want to reopen. However, I think that some will just go with whatever the resident of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue wants as well as local business leaders.

Here is an article that talks about the role that economic assumptions played in the pandemic. It is by Eva Illouz of Haaretz: Coronavirus Reveals What Really Makes the World Go Round, and It's Not Money - The bluff of neo-liberalism must be called out

We must decide if the systems we human beings created -- economic, social, and political -- serve us or if we exist to serve these systems. I know where I stand. I fear that I know too well where tRump and his allies stand.

Greetings, comrade.

I am working on grading, but I saw some openings for Middle School ELA in Waltham. I will apply.

I am listening to WCPT. There is a report from South Korea that 100 people AGAIN tested positive for the corona virus.

This will give health officials some pause. Chlamydia Claudius? Not so much.

Sorry I was MIA this morning -- I was taking a mental health break!

No problem.

I am finding that the online services from my synagogue and Torah study on Zoom help. So, does online meetings with colleagues and online games.

It is hard being stuck at home. So, take what time you need for yourself. We all need to do so.

I can see McDevitt out my front window: Kennedy is a 5-minute drive away.

I will note as I have for years, that the biggest benefit of working from home is that you CAN have that three-martini lunch.

Cocktail flag is going up early today. I've been up since 6:30, nearly everything I could do today was finished no later than 8:47am.

I'm going to make some bread, and then maybe get some hours in the flight sim this afternoon.

When I get done grading, it is time for some job hunting.

I will try to unwind tonight as I do so.

It's just another workday for me - I normally work from home on Mondays.

In my room in rehab, you can really hear the rain hitting the windows. It started last night interrupting my sleep. Very dreary and depressing.

Tip of the cap to Governor Cuomo of NY. He's taking the lead on this. Not secession per se, but I think the Northeast just invited the President to go and have sex with himself.
