The least We can do

Our loyal Trisec is probably taking part in this today, Memorial Day:

Today, if you can, take a listen at 3 PM. On this day, I hope that we can honor those who sacrificed their lives in the protection of our country by acting responsibly and protecting each other.

Wearing a mask and socially distancing is the least we can do to honor those that served and died for you and me.

and
Raine

'tis true.

I had the idea independently and was going to put on my Scout Uniform and head out about noon - but then I saw this, so 3pm it is.

Hello, bloggers!!

This is what I wrote on Facebook today:

On this Memorial Day, let us remember those who gave their lives to serve others. As we face the corona virus pandemic, it is my hope that we shall learn to exemplify those qualities that make a person heroic: honor, self-sacrifice, and love of others.

In some bad news, my neighborhood in Hammond, Indiana -- in the shadow of the City of Broad Shoulders -- flooded Saturday afternoon. I had water to a depth of about 5 inches in my basement. Books and some other things were ruined. So, besides reflecting on this day and grading, I have more clean up to do.

As I am looking for a better job that may well require a move, I guess this is forcing me to get rid of a few things and reorganize. (I will need a new dresser. One dresser drawer was so badly warped that if I could warp spacetime to such an extent, we would have someone heading off to Alpha Centauri and getting there fairly soon. )

There may not be an "Ask a Vet" tomorrow, but of course that means I have something else in mind.

Mission Accomplished - and now the cocktail flag is up.

I have never actually bugled out front - I'm in a "canyon" with brick and hot-top all around, the echo out there was fabulous today.
