A Respectful Friday
Author: wickedpam    Date: 05/28/2021 13:25:21

It's Memorial Day weekend. That 3 day weekend were we are supposed to honor our fallen but really we spend it kicking off summer with beach trips and barbeques. We are nothing if not multi-taskers I guess.

It was in 2014 that Arlington National Cemetery Historic Park District was announced by the National Park Service.

The historic district was determined to be nationally significant in the following ways: 1) as America’s most sacred national cemetery and as a national memorial to the military history of the United States; 2) it contains the burials of persons of national importance, including presidents, Supreme Court justices and countless military heroes; and 3) as the final resting place of service men and women from the Civil War to the current wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, it continues to serve as a national monument to the America’s war dead. Established in 1864 on the grounds of Arlington House (aka the Custis/Lee Mansion) during the Civil War, it has become one of our most sacred grounds. If you've ever visited, there is a quiet you don't hear much in the suburbs of Northern Virginia right next to the Beltway.

It is the resting place for the Tomb of the Unknown Solider,

And the Eternal Flame.

Today, approximately 400,000 veterans and their eligible dependents are buried at Arlington National Cemetery. Service members from every one of America’s major wars, from the Revolutionary War to today's conflicts, are interred at ANC. As a result, the history of our nation is reflected on the grounds of the cemetery. Arlington National Cemetery, Explore History

Good morning.

Mornin'..

Welp, the physical therapist too one look at my shoulder and knew it was out of place immediately. Now I'm being referred to an orthopedist.

I need to look into what recourse I can take with regards to the surgeon being charged back for this. I went into that first surgery with two perfectly good shoulders, and the operation had nothing to do with them.

Vote to being debate on the 1/6 commission bill is going right now.

Are they really so cowardly that they don't want to talk about it?

Sens. Cassidy (R-LA) & Sasse (R-NE) voted aye.

Combined with Collins, Murkowski and Romney that's halfway there.

Thanks Scoop.

A really good longtime friend lost her youngest brother in a Motocross racing accident. Me and some fellow High School friends went to the funeral to support her and her family.

My friend Kath and I were the only ones wearing a mask inside the Funeral home -- that was an overspill crowd of more than 200 people.

That was NOT comfortable at all.

Been a good while since anyone cast a vote.

There's nine Senators left. Assuming two of those are Dems, then there are seven Republicans remaining. We need four of those votes.

About Scott. I remember him as the bratty younger brother who annoyed us at slumber parties at Steph's house when we were in High School.

I always knew he was racing, but I never knew what an elite athlete he's become.

And Manchin should finally realize that the GOP can't be worked with.

But he's not and neither is Sinema - I'm sick of the both of them right now.

They are both so useless. We need more seats because they could actually be replaced by worse people (especially Manchin).

I don't have a photo at my fingertips, but a grand-uncle of mine is there.

Santiago Matayabas, CMUS (Chief Musician), WWI and WWII. Papa Trisec knew him.
