Wash Rinse Repeat
Author: Raine    Date: 10/21/2021 13:03:33

It's another Thursday. Another nearly finished week where I find myself tired of the neverending cycles of news. It's not that I pay too much attention or too little. It's not that I don't enjoy being up to date on what is happening in and around the country. I do. That isn't even the problem.

The problem is nothing is changing. The shadow of TFG Cult and Crime syndicate is everywhere. Joe Manchin seems to think he's the President as well as the only Senator. The media has the same narrative: everything is either chaotic, parties are at war, Dems are divided, and the list goes on.

Dems are not divided. There are two members of the Senate essentially gumming up the works. Our democracy is in peril, I think we can all acknowledge that. I get tired of media (social, broadcast, and print) pointing out the causes when we have ways to treat the symptoms and stop the disease.

We know the cause already. Those that have the ability to do something about it must start doing so. Right now everything I see, read and watch just seems like a re-run of a bad TV show.

I know, because I've taken to actually watching old re-runs as a respite from the doom and gloom on constant repeat. At least they are predictable and I know how they are gonna end.

Anyway, let's start our slide into a fall weekend.

&
Raine

Morning

Why do you think I post fluffy nonsense on Fridays? My brain is crispy.

Good morning, bloggers!!!!

I try to keep my sense of humor during these times. So, I do enjoy the light stuff on Fridays.

I hope to check on a few apartments this weekend. Then, I might want my own pet. Does a dog work for a bachelor who will be on his own or would a cat make more sense?

Cats are less maintenance but dogs will help you meet people.

Greetings, comrades.

It is somewhat telling that all the blog authors have kinda reached that "Fuck this shit" point.

But at least it's one of those glorious late-fall New England days.

Up over 70 today, some mottled sun through the clouds...

Pity the climate change has delayed foliage season. (It's true - everything is still green out my front window.)

Late nite post that nobody will see, but nonetheless....

I completed my first degree ("apprentice") this evening at the William Sutton lodge in Saugus. Saw some old friends from my hometown Boy Scout troop, as well as my now-elderly, but still sainted Scoutmaster.

And I held a two-hundred-year-old book of Masonry that was once a part of the library of our namesake.
