It's been a pretty bad week for the GOP. Bad even by their standards. So bad that I agree with Congressman Chip Roy (R-Tx). It got even more abnormal, as Bob mentioned yesterday

Yesterday Roy had some things to say on the House Floor.
On Wednesday, Representative Chip Roy took to House floor to tear into his fellow Republicans, accusing them of doing literally nothing useful with their time in Washington—definitely not anything he could actually tell voters about in an effort to get reelected. “You know, we have had a tumultuous year of sorts, but in the eyes of the American people, they’ve been watching from afar wondering when this body, the people’s House, will stand up in defense of the people who send us here,” Roy said. “When are we going to do what we said we would do?” Taking aim expressly at his GOP colleagues, Roy added: “For the life of me, I do not understand how you can go to the trouble of campaigning, raising money, going to events, talking to people, coming to this town as a member of a party who allegedly stands for something…and then do nothing about it. One thing: I want my Republican colleagues to give me one thing—one—that I can go campaign on and say we did. One!” Then he dared any Republicans in the room to come to the floor and “explain to me one material, meaningful, significant thing the Republican majority has done.”
It is worth mentioning that he was angry because the House voted to keep the government running, so he's still awful.

He just made a fantastic campaign ad for why people should never vote for a Republican again.

Bonus, he seems pretty confident about himself.

Can we send Leslie to solve all of our problems?

Greetings, comrades!

Your Loyal TriSec reporting in from disappointmentland. I've done all the maths in the wake of the tourism season. I worked many days less than last year, and took home many thousands of dollars less as well. Thus torpedoing most of my winter plans, as I'll now need to stay on full-time for the winter just to survive.

To that end; I am slowly but surely moving towards exiting Trolley life. I have a second job for the winter, straight charter work and some long-distance transport as well, with a company of good repute that is already paying me more just walking through the door.

We'll see how this turns out.

Did I mention that I am not very happy right now?

Of course, on the other hand, I am extremely pleased that I was just excommunicated by the Pope, along with six million of my brethren.

VATICAN CITY, Nov 15 (Reuters) - The Vatican has confirmed a ban on Catholics becoming Freemasons, a centuries-old secretive society that the Catholic Church has long viewed with hostility and has an estimated global membership of up to six million.

"Active membership in Freemasonry by a member of the faithful is prohibited, because of the irreconcilability between Catholic doctrine and Freemasonry," the Vatican's doctrinal office said in a letter published by Vatican media on Wednesday.

The letter on Freemasons cited a 1983 declaration, signed by the late Pope Benedict XVI, at the time the Vatican's doctrine chief, stating that Catholics "in Masonic associations are in a state of grave sin and may not receive Holy Communion".

So mote it be.

And in other news, we've been battling an infestation of our six-legged friends for much of the second half of the summer.

It was traced back to a unit two doors down from us; the folks living there were actually evicted because the entire unit was trashed and needed to be completely renovated in order to rent it again.

In any case, we've been using lenient, defensive measures, but with Thanksgiving coming next week, we've gone to Total War.

I'm afraid my kitchen rather looks like the Second Battle of Ypres right now.

Good morning, bloggers!!!

TriSec, I am sorry to hear that things are so rough. (I am going through a rough time right now but I have some interviews and I am finding jobs to apply to - so I am relatively hopeful.)

Hang in there!!!
