I've dusted off notes, tasks, and calendar apps on my tablet to get my life back in order.
I re-upped with "My Fitness Pal" today to track some calories. I want to lose some weight before I head south (60 days) and meticulously counting calories with very little additional effort was surprisingly effective during covid. (lost 20 pounds then.)
I have fixed the situation at work. I am surprisingly upbeat about my schedule this week, A few days of easy driving at $8 more an hour has a calming effect. Plus, I effectively went off the grid for 48 hours here. I had days off, I damn well took them. Shut off notifications on the app, and marked myself "away". I'll find out if anything happened tomorrow.
I'm back to my Russian studies, another casualty of my ajita over the last few months. Yeah, I know....but remember, Tolstoy did not invade Ukraine; neither did Tchaikovsky.
Curiously - I'm not back to the YMCA right now. That's a longstanding pattern amongst the regulars. We call everyone in the pool and the gym for the next three weeks or so "Resolutioners". They inevitably give up by February and everything goes back to normal.
So...
May yours not suck. A low bar, but we have to start someplace.

I hope that 2024 is a good year for us all. I am moving forward and having a late breakfast. (Fortunately, Tiny did well with the fireworks.)
I was up until midnight and there were fireworks. (Ironically, I am positioned where I could only hear them, not see them.) I slept in and will work on a few things.
