I hope that you are well. (I am on the last days of vacation and studying for the test that I am taking on Saturday after the storms cancelled everything last Monday.)
I think that Governor Bashear would have been within his rights to have an officer visit where McConnell is and verify that he is alive. However, Bashear may think leaving a seat unfilled may hurt the Republicans more than having an election.

The tricky part for a future Dem Admin is going to be finding a way to divest the US govt from these companies without tanking their stock price & hurting them over the long term. What Trump is doing is a fundamental tenet of communism while he distracts by claiming Dems are.

Well, Mrs. Trisec joined the "Colonoscopy Club" this morning. All is well.
Taking advantage of a rainy day here by settling in to watch Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro", which is regarded as the best opera every written. (We'll see.)
Aaaaaand......thinking about coming down Virginia way for a long weekend during winter break. Mostly to be silly and go to Buc-ee's and visit the Hazy Center at long last.

Mitch McConnell remains deceased unless and until there is compelling evidence to the contrary.
Perhaps he's been dead for weeks already, and they're trying desperately to figure out how to save face.
But of course, Republicans actually aren't that smart. Mitch has three daughters from his first marriage; to his credit, actually, he has not disclosed any grandchildren or other extended family. Could the GOP buy all of their silence?
