Good morning.

Have you voted yet?

No longer a bad joke, about 55 million ballots have already been turned in across the country.

Since most Republicans think that's fraud, and probably don't participate - that should be an encouraging sign.

But do consider, while we always claim there are more of us than them, aren't they ALWAYS better organized? Don't they always march in lockstep? Somehow, doesn't it seem that more of them always turn out on election day?

Maybe we're all just lazy fuckers that like to complain, but not actually do anything about it.

We can't afford to be complacent this time.

We've been hearing it every few years since the Bush administration. "This is the most important election of our lives!!"

Like the weatherman who cries, "Blizzard!" and then nothing turns up....I think there's a tendency to numb the electorate.

But this time, it really is the most important election of our lives.

A certain German dictator didn't quite come out of nowhere...it took a few election cycles for him and his party to gain power through legal means. Once they had it all, though....

We're on that precipice.

America can be a very different place in two years.

WHICH DIRECTION WILL WE TAKE HER?

We early voted. First time for us (we like to think of election day as a holiday), but after being in the hospital for 5 days, we didn't want to risk it.

Trump, on election day:

"I'm at 99% approval rating in Israel, can you believe it? If people got tired of me in the US, I'll move to Israel and become Prime Minister."

and...

President Donald Trump claimed three people a week were drowning in the reflecting pool, which is reportedly just 30 inches deep at its deepest point.

Early reporting from Ward 6, Precinct 2 (Waltham). The parking lot has been full all morning, with many people coming and going. It's on my route.

Mrs. Trisec voted early. I walk past the location on my way home.

Election Day turnout is down this year, and it's because Republicans aren't (yet) heading to the polls

(h/t to Trey Terry for the chart, which he posted to the site run by the grifting Nazi oligarch)

GOP turnout at *HALF* of what it was 4 years ago will lead to epic losses today

At around 3:30 when I reached the polls, I was voter #450 in my precinct (on one machine0, with another 82 in the second machine. It's just 5pm now, and my experience as a past poll worker is most folks vote in the evening after work.

No drama was encountered at any point. Of course being Massachusetts, it was an easy straight blue with these exceptions:

Ed Markey (Senator) I turned in a blank. I'm done with him; he's as old as the president.

Katherine Clark (Representative) She is running unopposed and does not need my vote.

Mike Barrett (State Senator) He is known to me personally, and he's an ass. I have actually never voted for him.

That is all.
