Bountiful

Happy Thanksgiving. I know that today will be a busy day for many of us so I will keep today's blog short and sweet.

Today on this day our forefathers came together with the native people of this land to give thanks for a bountiful harvest. Since that fateful dinner in 1621, Thanksgiving has morphed into something a little different. We are no longer a nation of Farmers but we do still give thanks. I love this holiday because It is primarily a secular one, not filled with the commercial pressure of Christmas or the religious guilt of so many other holidays. Today is a day of thanks.

We here at 4F have seen our share of friends struggling, but thankfully we have also seen so many people right here on this blog find themselves in better situations. It may not be monetary, but in simple things like making small lifestyle changes. Each and everyone of us has changed thru the years, and I am so happy that you all have let me into your life everyday. I am grateful for my online family. I love you all, and you make life a little bit happier everyday.

However you celebrate this year, may it be filled with the bounty that mother earth gave us.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

Figured it'd be a dead bloggie today. I'll be heading out to my parents' in an hour or so, meanwhile Lucky is giving Daddy some loving. Good boy!

Hmmmm. A double. The laptop must be feeling generous.

Howdy folks.

Cooking away this Thanksgiving morn.

I've been working so hard the past few months, it will be a welcome relief to sit back and party just as hard today.

I'm not much for grace and prayers and such, but I'll offer up "Philmont Grace" today.

For Food,

For Raiment,

For Life,

For Opportunity,

For Friendship and Fellowship,

We thank thee, oh Lord.

Amen.

Greetings from the salt mine.

Just whoring up with a little holiday OT and I overslept. Good thing I only live a few minutes away now. Live High School Football at 10:30 AM as if anyone is actually watching this.

Had the shower radio on to see what was being played in place of the SMS. It was a HS football game. Odd. Tuned it to 1520 (should be on 1510) and there was the Steph rerun. Never had a "digital" tuned radio not tune to the station it says it should be at. Wonderful barely adequate design coupled with Chinese quality control - another reason Sharper Image went belly up.

I just replaced all the felts, springs, and inner working thingies on the ol' horn.

Playing smooth and ready for Christmas Music!
