They Said WHAT??
Author: BobR    Date: 05/11/2011 12:45:30

In the arena of local and world politics, politicians and leaders are known for saying some particularly outrageous things. Often, though, it is those that swirl in the eddies and currents around them that will say the most insane things, particularly those desperate to get some sort of message out. As Dylan wrote: "When you got nothing, you got nothing to lose". So let's see who the nominees are...

In the "Some of my best friends are black" category, we have The Donald trying to prove he's not a racist. Of course, he's not just NOT a racist, he's the LEAST racist. His non-racism is Huge... HUUUUUUUUUGE...
Trump said, “Well, you know, when it comes to racism and racists, I am the least racist person there is. And I think most people who know me would tell you that. I am the least racist, I’ve had great relationships. In fact, Randal Pinkett won, as you know, on The Apprentice a little while ago, a couple of years ago. And Randall’s been outstanding in every way. So I am the least racist person.”

Well, I guess that settles that, huh? That should let "The Blacks" know he's down with them.

In the "Self-hating Women" category, we have a tie. First we have supposed Christian pop singer Rebecca St. James on - what else? - FAUX News excusing rapists, saying:
“When a woman is dressing in an immodest way, in a proactive way, she’s got to think about what is she saying by her dress?”

“They’re asking for sex,” she continued. “They’re asking for sex if they’re dressed immodestly.”

(perhaps she should watch this video). In a two-fer, we have Fox News contributor Kirsten Powers claiming that a "Cult of victimology" is stifling the debate around rape. So rape victims are stifling "the debate" of rape by not hiding their victimhood? What exactly IS the debate about, anyway? Rape is rape.

Finally, in the "rewriting history", category, Osama bin Laden's sons are saying the their father's hurried burial-at-sea "demeans" the family:
"We hold the American President (Barack) Obama legally responsible to clarify the fate of our father, Osama bin Laden, for it is unacceptable, humanely and religiously, to dispose of a person with such importance and status among his people, by throwing his body into the sea in that way, which demeans and humiliates his family and his supporters and which challenges religious provisions and feelings of hundreds of millions of Muslims."

So... his father masterminding the murder of thousands of innocent civilians didn't demean the family? I know you can't choose your relatives, and you can't choose your parents, but you CAN take a look at their criminal actions, and realize they tarnish your family name much more than the means by which justice is delivered. Perhaps the families of the victims in the WTC whose loved ones were incinerated into dust felt that their loved ones were "disposed" of in a demeaning way as well.

The sons went on and stated - without a hint of irony - that "[W]e maintain that arbitrary killing is not a solution to political problems". Hmmm... maybe they should have said that to dear ol' Dad before he financed and green-lighted the next bombing.

So let's hear your vote for the most outrageous - feel free to add more nominations in the comments as well.
