Daddy! Make the Meanies Stop Picking on Us!!!

As the old saying goes: If you can't take it, don't dish it out. Yesterday we learned that the Freshmen Republicans in Congress simply can't take the heat. They really don't like to be reminded that they did indeed vote to kill medicare. So how do they handle it? They ask Daddy Obama to make the mean kids stop picking on them....
On Tuesday, Kinzinger and 41 of his colleagues sent a letter to President Obama, asking him to rein in Democratic attacks on GOP members who voted for the House budget, which includes a plan to privatize Medicare and cap spending on the program.

"We ask that you stand above partisanship, condemn the disingenuous attacks and work with this Congress to reform spending on entitlement programs," the letter reads.
That takes a lot of, let's just say -- audacity. They created the problem and now they don't like being called out on it. Instead of taking a look at the fact that Americans hate this idea, they decided to ask the PRESIDENT to make the mean old Democrats in the House of Representatives stop picking on them. Am I missing anything here? Actually, yes I am missing a few things...

Let's go back in time for a moment. Back in 2009, a certain half-term quitter from Alaska wrote on her Facebook page:
The America I know and love is not one in which my parents or my baby with Down Syndrome will have to stand in front of Obama’s “death panel” so his bureaucrats can decide, based on a subjective judgment of their “level of productivity in society,” whether they are worthy of health care. Such a system is downright evil.
Then there was Senator Chuck Grassley, who said the following day:
"There is some fear because in the House bill, there is counseling for end-of-life," Grassley said. "And from that standpoint, you have every right to fear. You shouldn't have counseling at the end of life. You ought to have counseling 20 years before you're going to die. You ought to plan these things out. And I don't have any problem with things like living wills. But they ought to be done within the family. We should not have a government program that determines if you're going to pull the plug on grandma."
I don't want to forget the current Speaker of the House who still has this up at his website:
And it still puts a government czar in charge of personal medical decisions that only patients and their doctors ought to be making. In short, it's the same government-run plan that Democrats have been trying to ram down the American people's throats all year.”
Next up, we have renowned political Scholar and Pundit, Michelle Malkin, who falsely claimed:
Big Nanny Democrats want to ration health care for everyone in America – except those who break our immigration laws.
There was even a lie printed in the Wall Street Journal from Jim Towey, (former director of the White House Office of Faith-Based Initiatives, 2002-2006) titled The Death Book for Veterans --- All of the above lies were debunked in our little project a few years ago called Health Care Reform Myths. You can look them all up right there. Grandma's, Babies, Immigrants, Vets and more -- they were all going to be put on the chopping block for ObamaCare.

It just amazes me that the GOP is claiming that it is unfair for the Democrats to use what they call *MediScare* tactics when the truth is - as Steve Benen from Washington Monthly puts it: If the GOP’s Medicare proposal is frightening the public, the problem isn’t with Democratic rhetoric; it’s with the Republican plan. But the other angle to keep in mind is recent history. In 2010 — just last year — many of these same freshmen managed to get elected by using wildly misleading attack ads accusing Democrats of hurting seniors and “cutting” Medicare.

Don't believe it? Take a look at this DCCC video:

BUT WAIT!! THERE'S MORE!!!

Not to be outdone by GOP Representatives and the days of HCR past - we learned yesterday that Senator Rand Paul thinks that if you believe in a right to healthcare, ‘You Believe In Slavery’ -- except of course, for when it benefits him:
But on Thursday evening, the ophthalmologist from Bowling Green said there was one thing he would not cut: Medicare physician payments.

In fact, Paul — who says 50% of his patients are on Medicare — wants to end cuts to physician payments under a program now in place called the sustained growth rate, or SGR. “Physicians should be allowed to make a comfortable living.
The GOP spent the better part of 2 years as a minority swinging a bat at the Dems. They don't seem to like it when someone fights back. It's hard to even begin describing how desperate and pathetic this makes the GOP-led House look. They created this mess, and they want someone else to clean it up. It's time for the GOP to take some responsibility. The fact that people are upset about what they are attempting to do to Medicare is not the fault of the Democrats.

And it certainly isn't for the President to intervene on their behalf. Hell -- some of them still don't believe he's even American, and yet they want him to be their Daddy and make the bad people stop picking on them. Maybe a more appropriate saying should be, You've made your bed, now lie in it .
