Snippets of the year

Greetings on this last day of 2016.

Here is TriSec's oh-so-brief year in review:

365 days in a row have been conveniently packaged up by us humans as a measure of time, based on our orbit around the sun. As we continue on our endless circular journey, we've reached the point where society arbitrarily decided to push "reset". (Why this day, BTW? Why not August 3rd? But I digress.)

We've certainly been through a lot of things this year. Personally we've had a few of those "watershed" moments that are defined by time. Over the summer, we had nice, round numbers around these parts - 20 years of marriage, birthdays #50 and #15 on consecutive days, and all kinds of other mundane things we take for granted.

There have been big things too. With so many passing on, it's tough to pick one last gasp that overarches everything.
Bowie. Prince. The United States.

Of course, the ordinary met their end, too. My own mother joined the long list of things that 2016 took from us.

As I post this, there's about 16 hours left of this cluster-fuck of a year. No matter what 2017 brings, I know that when ol' 2016 itself shuffles off the mortal coil, I'll be among the first to dance on it's grave. Who is with me?
