Obamacare Beware
Author: velveeta jones    Date: 03/26/2017 16:35:09

Gah, we all must suffer through Obamacare again this year; all because those sneaky democrats refuse to usher in the simple and cost effective Trumpcare bill.

Trumpcare would have gotten rid of a lot of those pesky kids on Medicaid, for example, saving the Government billions of dollars. The kids parents would have gotten a tax credit however, so that's good. Another great thing about the Republican plan is that it would have helped out the struggling insurance industry by allowing them to charge people with pre-existing conditions about 30% more, but only for one year. That's not so bad, it teaches people to look for alternatives to cure their ailments like cancer or cerebral palsy or whatnot. Have you consulted your Aunt's second cousin by marriage who once went to medical school for 1 and a half semesters? Try that.

What do people have against HSA's? It just so simple, save your money in a Health Savings Account so that when you get that broken leg or that snake bite or that unregulated logging corporation lets a tree fall on you or you get pregnant, you just use your own money that you've dutifully saved up! So simple. At the end of the year, if you haven't used it just go out and buy all the Tylenol and bandaids that you can stock up on. The new Trumpcare encourages HSA's.

The tax credits are the real beauty of this plan, or at least they would have been if those cowards would have passed this. Young people would get a tiny bit of tax credit - because they're young and healthy - while older people would get much more because they're more likely to get sick. Even liberal Billionaire George Soros can appreciate this plan - he'd get more money in tax credits than that barista hippie who works 2 jobs and goes to school full-time. That kid is young and healthy; doesn't need all that tax credit.

The republican plan offered freedom. Freedom for employers to drop coverage which they were forced to provide for their employees under penalties; freedom for the insurance industry to raise their premiums for a short time so that they can refill their dwindling bank accounts (do you know how much the CEO's mortgage is on just one of his homes?) and freedom for individuals to choose how to save money and take charge of their own lives to get the care they need.

Sadly, this plan didn't even get a vote. Here's what President Trump had to say about it:

I’ll tell you the funniest is that I’ll go backstage before a show and everyone’s getting dressed. No men are anywhere, and I’m allowed to go in, because I’m the owner of the pageant and therefore I’m inspecting it. … ‘Is everyone OK?' You know, they’re standing there with no clothes. ‘Is everybody OK?’ And you see these incredible-looking women, and so I sort of get away with things like that.

Whoops, wrong quote.... here it is:

Perhaps the best thing that could happen is exactly what happened today, because we'll end up with a truly great healthcare bill in the future after this mess known as Obamacare explodes. Obama new it would only last until the end of his term and in 2017 he wouldn't be around anymore.

Exactly. Obama didn't care about the American people or his legacy, he knew he'd be gone in 2017 and the whole ACA could just go to hell in a hand basket. Not his problem.

And as Paul Ryan summed it up: "Doing big things is hard".

Indeed Paul Ryan.....indeed.
