Yesterday was a big day for primaries, with elections in several states. As we've previously done, let's dive into the results.

Michigan:
As of this writing, 95% of the vote has been counted. What's interesting is that about 900K people voted in the Republican primary, and about 1.5M people voted in the Democratic primary.

• U.S. Senate: On the Dem side, Abdul El-Sayed (a progressive) is slightly ahead of Haley Stevens (a moderate). I am not sure what the laws are in Michigan, so either El-Sayed will win, or there's a potential for a run-off. There was only one candidate for the Republicans, so that's an automatic win for Mike Rogers.


• Governor: With current gov Gretchen Whitmer term-limited, their is no incumbent in the race. Jocylen Benson, the current SoS for Michigan, is way ahead and should win this easily.


• U.S. House: I won't go into all the details, but Rashida Tlaib has kept her seat by a comfortable margin. For the district which represents Detroit, Donovan McKinney seems set up unseat incumbent Shri Thaneder.

Missouri:
Not a lot going on there... democratic incumbent Wesley Bell (a moderate) looks to hold his seat against (progressive) Cori Bush. There was an Amendment on the ballot to change how ballot measures were counted. This Republican-sponsored referendum failed by a long shot.

Kansas:
Another Republican-sponsored ballot measure to change how state Supreme Court judges are selected, from the current system in which the Governor chooses, to make them elected. This one failed too.
Governor: Dem Cindy Holscher appears to be the winner over Ethan Corson, who was endorsed by "establishment" dems.

Virginia:
"Establishment" Democrats won their various U.S. House districts. VA elects it's state congressional and governor posts in off-years, so nothing there.

Kansas:
With term-limited Governor Democrat Laura Kelly unable to run, so this race was wide open. Cindy Holscher won the Dem nod, and Ty Masterson won on the Rep side.

Washington:
This state doesn't limit party affiliation for voting, as the top two winners in each U.S. House race will face off in November, regardless of party. In every district, the top 2 finishers were 1 Democrat, and 1 Republican.

Oddly enough, there are two more primaries this week, tomorrow (Tennesee) and Saturday (Hawaii). After redistricting, which split Memphis into 3 pieces to tack on to existing Republican districts, the primaries and elections will be a sham.
