Dirty, dirty, dirty...

As we continue the long slow death march of the tRump pResidency, we are all getting a crash course on the insidiousness of Russia and its power players and their activities in the U.S. At this point, we know that DTJr was solicited for a meeting with a Russian lawyer by a Russian businessman with whom tRump and DTJr had previously worked. DTJr, Kushner, and Manafort attended that meeting, then tRump immediately commented about some info that was going to come out in a few days.

We already know that Putin himself ordered the hacking of the DNC, and the information collected was the information that the Russian lawyer was promising. That info was released by WikiLeaks and pushed into social media by Russian bots.

We know of tRump's infatuation with Putin (and likely his absolute power), and his business dealings with various Russian players prior to becoming president.

But like most corruption investigations, the more you look, the more dirt there is to uncover. Here are a few things that have gone a little under the radar...

The direct computer connection to a Russian bank: We've reported this on the blog before, but it really hasn't gotten any traction in the MSM. There was a computer in the tRump offices that had a direct connection to a Russian bank - and pretty much nothing else.
The researchers quickly dismissed their initial fear that the logs represented a malware attack. The communication wasn’t the work of bots. The irregular pattern of server lookups actually resembled the pattern of human conversation—conversations that began during office hours in New York and continued during office hours in Moscow. It dawned on the researchers that this wasn’t an attack, but a sustained relationship between a server registered to the Trump Organization and two servers registered to an entity called Alfa Bank.
[...]
That wasn’t the only oddity. When the researchers pinged the server, they received error messages. They concluded that the server was set to accept only incoming communication from a very small handful of IP addresses. A small portion of the logs showed communication with a server belonging to Michigan-based Spectrum Health. [editor's note: Spectrum is a medical facility chain led by Dick DeVos, the husband of Betsy DeVos, who was appointed by Trump as U.S. education secretary.]

The DOJ abruptly settled a Russian money-laundering case: Jeff Sessions' DOJ had an open case of a Russian real estate company laundering money, and it was suddenly settled back in May. There is way too much juiciness to single any one thing out for a quote, so just read the whole thing. Essentially, though, the lawyer representing the real estate company is the same one that DTJr met with.

Jared Kushner's digital campaign is under investigation: While it is just an "investigation", and that's not an indication of guilt, it seems that something must have intriqued the investigators enough to encourage them to spend their valuable time on it.
Investigators at the House and Senate Intelligence committees and the Justice Department are examining whether the Trump campaign’s digital operation – overseen by Jared Kushner – helped guide Russia’s sophisticated voter targeting and fake news attacks on Hillary Clinton in 2016.

Congressional and Justice Department investigators are focusing on whether Trump’s campaign pointed Russian cyber operatives to certain voting jurisdictions in key states – areas where Trump’s digital team and Republican operatives were spotting unexpected weakness in voter support for Hillary Clinton, according to several people familiar with the parallel inquiries.

This entire administration is filthy - top to bottom - and we the people deserve better.
