IOU Oligarch
Author: BobR    Date: 08/28/2019 13:06:06

Oligarchy (n): a form of government in which all power is vested in a few persons or in a dominant class or clique; government by the few.

Throughout his campaign, and throughout his residency in the White House, tRump has always been a friend of Russia. He sought their help to get elected, and there was quite a bit of coordination between his campaign officials and Russian officials. He's even pushing to get Russia back into the G7 Summit.

As a reminder, Russia is an oligarchy. There is a titular president, but Putin and his rich pals wield the true power. Once might wonder why tRump is so deferential to them. It's almost as if he owes them big-time (or is it bigly?).

As it turns out - he apparently does:
MSNBC host Lawrence O'Donnell added to the swirl of rumor that surrounds President Donald Trump's relationship with Deutsche Bank, suggesting that his loans with the lender were underwritten by Russian billionaires.

O'Donnell, appearing on the network Tuesday night with host Rachel Maddow, said that a source "close to Deutsche Bank says that the co-signers of Donald Trump's Deutsche Bank loans are Russian billionaires close to Vladimir Putin.".

"If true, that would explain every kind word Donald Trump has ever said about Russia and Vladimir Putin," he said.

"If true, that would be a significant factor in Vladimir Putin's publicly stated preference for presidential candidate Donald Trump over presidential candidate Hillary Clinton."
(bold-face mine)

If true, while that in itself does not constitute a "high crime" or "misdemeanor", it does indicate a highly-compromised person in a position of power under the thumb or a longtime geopolitical rival. Any action taken by tRump to help them and hurt the U.S., however, does amount to treason, and it appears there's ample motivation for him to do so.

Things are likely going to get chaotic as the House seeks proof of the leaked story, and tRump becomes more erratic (is that possible?... you have to ask?) as he reacts to the fallout. This is like owing money to the mafia, and if he doesn't deliver, they will do worse than break his kneecaps.
