It will come as no surprise that I was always going to vote for our nominee. We really are, as Uncle Joe puts it, in a battle for the soul of this nation.
When Joe Biden said he would choose a woman for his running mate, I was truly thrilled. There were so many qualified women and finally they were truly being recognized and put in the spotlight. I did, however, have a personal favorite for the VP pick.
Kamala.
When the news broke Tuesday I cried. I was overcome. with a feeling that has been missing-- I cried tears of joy. Senators Harris and Warren were my preferred candidates and ultimately Harris found that spot in my heart. I didn't get to vote for her as she left the race the end of last year. Warren did soon after the new year. I voted for Former VP Biden on primary day as this is no time to play around.
Kamala.
She is the pick and even as I write this, there is a smile on my face and tears of joy in my eye. She's smart, tough, kind, joyful, funny, fierce and more. She's Fierce and as I see it, she is the perfect running mate for a man that is known for being kind and campassionate.
No other candidate can compare to @KamalaHarris’s LGBT record.
When the Democratic Party was debating over civil unions, as AG, Kamala ordered all clerks to marry same-sex couples with “no exceptions.†This is why #ilovekamala ♥ï¸ðŸ‘¸ðŸ½ pic.twitter.com/xCcbaPeRUR

We can talk policy and politics another day, but this week Joe Biden gave me something I needed more than anything else during this awful time.
Joyfulness.
I don't know about you, but my soul really appreciates it.
