It's been nearly a year and a half since one of the worst assaults on out American democracy was planned and executed. It seemed obvious from the outset that this was the Orange Menace's last grasp at retaining power. It seemed a simple matter of pulling together the in-plain-sight evidence and lock him up (along with a plethora of his brownshirts on the ground).

It seemed so, anyway.

How else would the Oath Keepers, Proud Boys, and other RW rag-tag self-styled militias know to head to the Capitol building while the rally was still going on? Why else would Combover Caligula tell his rally attendees to march on the Capitol building other than to provide the militias with bodies to assist with causing confusion and chaos while they attended to their true mission?

The wheels of justice turn slowly, though, and tomorrow night will be quite the show. There is a ton of things to go over:

• The document dreamed up by John Eastman detailing how to usurp the will of the people.


• The very words of TFG telling his rally attendees what to do.


• The secret tRump staffer email requesting Georgia Republicans secretly change the ballots from Biden to TFG.


• MTG and Boebert using the exact same "1776" language as Proud Boys members used in a slew of damning texts.


• Those same seditionists were seen in a video the day before the attack, discussing their plans. Also in the video are "Joshua Macias, a scheduled speaker the following day, and Bianca Gracia, a Jan. 6 event organizer with White House ties."


• Peter Navarro essentially confessed to attempting a coup.


• Rep Louis Gohmert essentially said the quiet part out loud by complaining that Republicans can't lie under oath.

This is just a fraction of the stuff that's available in public. Once can certainly hope that tomorrow night's televised hearings deliver some real gut punches in the form of heretofore unseen evidence and/or testimony.
