Tidal Turn

So much happened yesterday that it felt like the halcyon days of the Friday news dump. Yet - it was so much more than that. Things are starting to catch up to TFG, his family and his merry band of grifters, and yesterday, seemed to be the beginning of that sea change.

Just before noon, NYS AG announced they were suing TFG, 3 of his offspring, and the entire organization that bears that name.
The 220-page civil lawsuit filed in Manhattan Supreme Court seeks at least $250 million in damages.

It also seeks to permanently bar Trump, Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump from serving as an officer of a company in New York, and permanently prohibit the Trump companies named in the suit from doing business in New York state.

James said she has asked federal prosecutors in Manhattan and the IRS to investigate Trump for possible federal crimes. She said that evidence obtained during her three-year civil probe of Trump indicated possible crimes of bank fraud and making false statements to financial institutions.

The suit alleges that “the number of grossly inflated asset values is staggering, affecting most if not all of the real estate holdings in any given year.”

“All told, Mr. Trump, the Trump Organization, and the other Defendants, as part of a repeated pattern and common scheme, derived more than 200 false and misleading valuations of assets included in the 11 Statements covering 2011 through 2021,” the complaint says.
Later on in the day, TFG was dealt another harsh dose of comeuppance. We are all aware of a certain judge delivering a very poor ruling about the stolen documents at MAL. We all know that TFG requested a special master and was granted one (he has to pay for the SM, btw). In the meantime, The DOJ appealed Judge Cannon's ruling -- one where she said the investigation into the stolen, classified and missing documents is in question. It was appealed to the 11th circuit court. Judge cannon was rebuked. The FBI is resuming its investigation.
In a stark repudiation of Donald Trump's legal arguments, a federal appeals court on Wednesday permitted the Justice Department to resume its use of classified records seized from the former president's Florida estate as part of its ongoing criminal investigation.

The ruling from a three-judge panel of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit amounts to an overwhelming victory for the Justice Department, clearing the way for investigators to continue scrutinizing the documents as they consider whether to bring criminal charges over the storage of top-secret records at Mar-a-Lago after Trump left the White House. In lifting a hold on a core aspect of the department's probe, the court removed an obstacle that could have delayed the investigation by weeks.

The appeals court also pointedly noted that Trump had presented no evidence that he had declassified the sensitive records, as he maintained as recently as Wednesday, and rejected the possibility that Trump could have an "individual interest in or need for" the roughly 100 documents with classification markings that were seized by the FBI in its Aug. 8 search of the Palm Beach property.

2 of the 3 judges were appointed by TFG himself. The supposed declassification process was performed "even by thinking about it" per his account. I'll let him speak to his process of making things happen in his world of governance.
“A president has the power to declassify,” the Fox News host stated. “You have said on Truth Social a number of times you did declassify.”

“I did declassify, yes,” Trump said.

“Is there a process?” Hannity asked. “What was your process?”

“There doesn’t have to be a process as I understand it,” Trump replied. “If you’re the president of the United States, you can declassify just by saying, ‘It’s declassified,’ even by thinking about it because you’re sending it to Mar-a-Lago or wherever you’re sending it. And there doesn’t have to be a process. There can be a process but there doesn’t have to be. You’re the president. You make that decision. So when you send it, it’s declassified. I declassified everything.”
His lawyers have not made these claims in court, as has been noted. He also told the Fox host that the FBI was searching his Florida property for Hillary Clinton's emails, Hannity gave him a big assist in covering his fat ass,
“I would say there’s a very good chance that a lot of those documents will never be seen again,” Trump said before pivoting to what some may call magical thinking about the reason for the “raid.” “There’s also a lot of speculation, because of what they did, the severity of the FBI coming in, raiding Mar-a-Lago, were they looking for the Hillary Clinton emails that were deleted … but they are around someplace … were they looking for …”

At this point, Hannity appeared to be talking about, interrupting his guest with “wait, wait wait, you’re not saying you you had it?”
Narrator: The emails were deleted.

Yesterday was a big day, and a good day for many. TFG and his circle of deplorables, however, are about to go through some things.

It seems like the tide has turned in a very big way wave.
