Republicans Behaving Badly
Author: BobR    Date: 09/28/2022 13:28:51

The most obvious response to "Republicans Behaving Badly" is: "yes?... and?....". Nonetheless, as the midterm elections are just over a month away, it's time to point out just how horrible these people are. Cases in point:

U.S. House Rep Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA): This mutant already belongs on the top 10 list of Worst Republicans for numerous things, especially her role in the Jan 06th insurrection. Now she's advocating hunting down and shooting Democrats by likening them to feral hogs:
“Democrats aren’t the only ones destroying farmers’ ability to put food on the table,” she continued, noting (correctly) that wild hogs have destroyed farmers’ fields.

There follows a montage showing Greene shooting at a pig from a helicopter, then posing on the ground with what is purportedly its corpse with the chopper in the background.

The video ends with a call to “help American farmers out,” “STOP COMMUNISM” and sign up for the competition.

Texas AG Ken Paxton: Yesterday, the AG for TX ran away from a process server trying to issue a subpoena to appear in a court case (regarding abortion regulations). A Judge just decided he didn't need to appear after all:
A Texas judge ruled Tuesday that state Attorney General Ken Paxton does not have to appear at a hearing related to abortion access lawsuit after an affidavit alleged that he ran away twice from a person who was serving him a subpoena related to the lawsuit.

[...]

On Monday morning, Ernesto Martin Herrera served the subpoenas to Paxton at his home, the affidavit says. Herrera knocked on the front door and a woman opened it, where he shared that he was there to give Paxton important legal documents, the affidavit continues. She said that Paxton was on the phone and that he was in a hurry to leave, so Herrera left his card and went to sit in his car to wait.

Almost an hour later, a car drove into the home’s garage and Paxton exited the vehicle, the affidavit says.

“I walked up the driveway approaching Mr. Paxton and called him by his name,” the affidavit says. “As soon as he saw me and heard me call his name out, he turned around and RAN back inside the house through the same door in the garage.”

Later, his wife, State Senator Angela Paxton, started the truck, according to the affidavit. Several minutes later Ken Paxton ran out the door and into the car, trying to avoid Herrera, the affidavit says. Herrera says that he once again yelled Paxton’s name, saying that he had legal documents, but that Paxton continued towards the truck.

When Herrera determined Paxton was not going to take the subpoenas from his hand, the affidavit says he yelled to Paxton that he was serving him with legal documents and left it on the ground.

Paxton left in the truck and left the documents on the ground, Herrera said in the affidavit.

Paxton responded to the allegation in two tweets from his verified account, saying he is being attacked for trying to “avoid a stranger lingering outside my home.”

[...]

Judge Robert Pitman, the judge who granted Paxton’s request to quash the subpoena, also granted Paxton’s emergency motion to seal the documents.

U.S. House Rep Matt Gaetz (R-FL): Child sex trafficker and another supporter of the attempted coup, Gaetz pretty much says out loud what we can expect from Republican party if they take control next year:
Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-Fla.) all but admitted this week that he doesn’t care about enacting policy if the GOP wins control of the House in the November election.

Instead, the Donald Trump-adoring Florida Republican said control of the chamber should be primarily used to settle scores with Democrats.

Gaetz, appearing on Steve Bannon’s “War Room” podcast, called on Republicans to “open up every vector of attack” on Democrats as he echoed GOP calls for the impeachment of President Joe Biden and senior members of his administration for unspecified reasons.

[...]

“And that’s why it should be investigations first (and) policy, bill-making to support the lobbyists and the PACs as a far, far diminished priority,” added Gaetz...

Yep - he said the quiet part out loud. If you have any interest in actual governing, you have been warned.
