Say No to Bananas

There was another Senate debate in Georgia last night. This one was held at the Atlanta Press Club and this time, along with the Republican and Democratic candidates, the Libertarian was on stage. Here is what the stage looked like.

Indeed a person wanting to represent Georgia in the United States Senate wouldn't even represent himself or his party on a debate stage. This might be the most benign thing he's done in his quest for the seat.

Meanwhile, We have a candidate running for Senate in Pennsylvania. A few years ago, he paid a visit to Jimmy Kimmel's late-night show. Take a watch. Crazy, right? Jimmy moved on to another topic and it got even more bizarre. I haven't been able to write about Oz' animal cruelty because it is too nauseating.

That any of these races between ordinary politicians and insane GOP candidates are this close is stunning. The type of people that the GOP is embracing is really scary. That there are more people willing to vote for them is not only terrifying, it really unmasks the depths of depravity that exist in a larger-than-thought segment of our population. Remember and remind everyone that you know who will vote, there are more of us than them.

I'm not talking about voting left or right, remind them to vote for sanity and a moral compass in November. We must maintain that baseline and then build on it before we debate political policies. Right now there is no policy with the Republican party at all. It's fake badges, needles, and no-shows. Those things are not a part of a representative government. They belong to a banana republic. Vote against a Banana Republic in November.
