We remain in peak season at work. Yesterday, we had another three cruise ships in town, with somewhere around 7,000 people looking for something to do here in Boston.

You've seen that my schedule is completely out of whack now, and will be for another five weeks or so. The last ship pulls out on Veteran's Day, and then it's right into the quiet season.

 
With TriSec's brain not where it's supposed to be on a Tuesday, I slept late, drank some coffee, and with a rather nice fall day in New England, I did a rare thing - got on my motorcycle and went for a ride this morning.

I had an idea to head out for Central Mass to see if there was any "early" foliage about. "tis the season, after all.

But no. Given the near-daily rain we've had all year, everything remains lush and green. Only some minor hints of it, but mostly subdued oranges and already some brown. I'm thinking there's not going to be much of a fall this year.

But that is the crux of it, isn't it? I think I'm the most northern member here, but a few of us grew up in the general area. Is it just me, or does anyone else remember when Columbus Day used to be peak foliage season? It hasn't even appeared yet.

The other thing I was struck by today - and it's only been 22 years - I know we all remember "September 11 Sky." That spectacular late-summer sky that day, crisp, deep blue, warm with a hint of fall cool at the edges....

For years afterwards, I would always hope for gloomy and cloudy weather on September 11, just so it wouldn't be a reminder.

Here we are on October 3, and we have that same kind of spectacular sky and feel out here in my neck of the woods.

Again I rhetorically ask - Climate Change Much?
