It's finally frozen over
Author: BobR    Date: 04/01/2009 12:16:47

Last Groundhogs Day, the little rodent prognosticator predicted 6 more weeks of winter. Those six weeks have come and gone, but it appears there's still some frost in the air (or at least under ground somewhere). Hell just froze over. Why?

Rush Limbaugh is packing it in.

A few years back he claimed he was done "carrying water" for the Republican party. This was a shocking admission in two ways: 1) That he actually admitted to doing it, and 2) that he decided to stop. Perhaps it was a business decision; the Republicans in general (and Bush in particular) were damaged goods.

However, they still ARE damaged goods, so why has he been so supportive lately and why would he be giving up now? Is he planning on running for office? Did his anal cyst finally pop?

No, nothing that exciting... He feels he is hurting the Republican party by all the claims that he is the head of it:
In a statement released late last night, radio commentator Rush Limbaugh announced that he will be turning off his golden microphone and the EIB network at the end of April. The statement declares:

"It has become clear to me that I have become too closely associated with the Republican party. Although I may personally support the party, as a radio professional, I am bound to a position of neutrality. Due to recent events, however, that neutrality has come into question. This in turn puts a stigma - however unfairly - upon the party..."

The "recent events" alluded to are the criticisms of Limbaugh (followed by nearly immediate apologies) from several key Republicans, most notably RNC Chairman Michael Steele...
