The Whiplash Continues

With this maladministration, you never know which direction is up or down. It's a war to end Iran's nuclear program, it's regime change, it's to protect "our interests" in the region, etc., etc., etc...

The funding of TSA is the latest bit of nonsense. I am not a huge fan of the security theater at airports. I am not a fan of overzealous agents requesting pat-downs. What I'm REALLY not a fan of, however, of is ICE.

Democrats have tried to get numerous bills on the docket to fund the TSA, so ICE can go bye-bye. They went nowhere. Finally, an actual bipartisan bill to fund all of DHS except for ICE was crafted and presented to Pedo McYamTits and shot it down:
In a Truth Social post hours after Thune’s approach, Trump blew up at Republicans who were ready to team up with Democrats on the agreement. He claimed, in a lengthy statement, that they were “voting against AMERICA.”

“I don’t think we should make any deal with the Crazy, Country Destroying, Radical Left Democrats unless, and until, they Vote with Republicans to pass ‘THE SAVE AMERICA ACT,’” he raged.

It seems that yesterday was TACO Tuesday:
Donald Trump reversed course and will accept an offer from Democrats to reopen parts of the Department of Homeland Security, excluding Immigration and Customs Enforcement, and end the nation’s growing airport delays, a White House official said on Tuesday.

[...]

Democrats on Monday offered the White House and Senate Republicans a deal that would reopen every part of DHS, excluding ICE, and allow Republicans to attempt to reauthorize funding for ICE through a budget reconciliation package that would only require 50 votes to clear the Senate. A White House official told NewsNation on Tuesday that the president had decided to accept the offer.

The flip-flop from Trump — the kind of reversal on a hard-line stance that has come to be known as TACO (Trump Always Chickens Out) among his critics — came a day after he insisted that Republicans not “make any deal with the Crazy, Country Destroying, Radical Left Democrats” and urged them to work through the Easter break if necessary to force through his voter ID initiative.

Whether or not ICE remains at the airports once the TSA is back on its feet remains to be seen.

It's an election year, so every action by every politician should be viewed through that perspective. If this continues, I'll need a neck brace before the end of the year.

Day 429... 1030 to go.
