Just a Price to pay

We have always had racism. We have always had gun violence. We have always had people trying to end both of these plagues in our nation. There is no question to those who see the data that the latter is worsening. We are having a reckoning with the former on a daily basis these days.

Along with racism and gun violence, we have always had another issue that makes people uncomfortable. Caring for our mental health. There is one thing exists that exacerbates all of these issues which has not always existed: Conservative news/opinion networks on easily accessed television platforms.

It was going to be the trial of the year (until TFG's case gets going in court). Dominion Voting Systems sued FOX "News" because of the relentless lies told by the network about hacked and inaccurate voting equipment. This was all in service to TFG's claim that the election was stolen. The lies were spewed by everyone on air, from the little-known hosts all the way up to the marquee "stars", as well as numerous guests. It was a cesspool of deliberate misinformation (AKA: lies), spewed by a purported news organization, because party is thicker than honesty and integrity (not that there was any of that previously at FOX "News").

Two hundred forty eight years ago this evenyng, an ordinary courier needed to get a message to some gentlemen staying at the Hancock-Clarke house near Lexington town Centre. This is likely to feature prominently in some historic tours around my fair city today.

A florist in Nashville is using the GOP tactics that used to be baked in the RW cake. You'll recall back in 2018, A baker refused to bake a cake for a same-sex couple and won at SCOTUS.

Getting Back in the Groove

After getting back from a 5 day trip to see family, I am trying to get back into the groove. That includes writing a blog.

There are a lot of small stories deserving of attention (such as Rick Scott (R-NC)) potentially tossing his hat into the 2024 Republican primary. There are the various court cases TFG is facing, there were more shootings, and Republicans are still being their asshole selves.

Still - nothing that I can turn into a cohesive narrative, so consider this "stub" my first stab back into reality, and hopefully I can do better next week.
