Just saw on the Globe....those of you outside Boston might be vaguely aware of the story.

Darryl Williams died yesterday.

Good morning, bloggers!! I hope that everyone is well.

I am taking a day off from subbing, as I have a seder (no, not Sam Seder) to go to in the North Suburbs. I will be seeing many members of my family, including my alert, articulate, and sweet Great Aunt Gussie who is in her mid-90s. (She told me in 2008 that she thought that the transition between Bush and Obama was worse than the one between Hoover and Roosevelt.)

Tonight at sundown, millions of Jews around the world will celebrate Pesach, the Festival of Unleavened Bread that is usually called Passover in English. In Israel and among Reform Jews, the holiday will last seven days but eight among Conservative and Orthodox Jews outside of Israel.

So, I thought that I would wish those celebrating the holiday with me a Happy Passover.

The holiday commemorates the Exodus of the Jews from Egypt. Each generation is asked to recall what it was like to be slaves and to know freedom. Sadly, there are still people enslaved in our world -- literally and figuratively. May the day come when all know freedom and dignity.

Here is a site with links to information on Passover, including some recipes.

Happy Passover to anyone else celebrating the holiday this week.

Happy Passover Will.

Morning, Will...Happy Passover to you and all!

Lest we forget, the Last Supper was a Seder...something the rabid Christians tend to forget, Christ was a Jew.

The other great Abrahamic religion celebrates this season too, as the Day of Ashura.

Boston and the world lost a good man. May he rest in peace and may his memory be a blessing.

Would that all of those who can be thought of as B'nai Abraham -- children of Abraham -- truly learn to embrace each other with respect, understanding, peace and love. Fortunately, most people are willing to reach out to each other in understanding and peace.

Oh, Micheal STEELE:

Once on the ground, FEC filings suggest, Steele travels in style. A February RNC trip to California, for example, included a $9,099 stop at the Beverly Hills Hotel, $6,596 dropped at the nearby Four Seasons, and $1,620.71 spent [update: the amount is actually $1,946.25] at Voyeur West Hollywood, a bondage-themed nightclub featuring topless women dancers imitating lesbian sex.

Oh, wow, awesome. Note that Strong's done his due diligence on the amount spent. As of this writing, Voyeur's website is not loading, probably because every single staff member of the Democratic National Committee is currently on the site, looking for images of Steele in the champagne room.

Sad. Just sad.

Anti-Government conservatives are ignoring census and will not get represented.

What's more, an under-count in Texas could cost the state more than just representation.

For every Texan missed, the state will lose an estimated $12,000 over the next decade in federal funding for transportation, agriculture, health, education, and housing, said Frances Deviney, director of Texas Kids Count, a nonpartisan group in Austin.

Deviney says Texas could lose “hundreds of millions of dollars in lost opportunities” because of uncounted residents.

“We've got that hard-to-count element, along with these fringe (anti-government) groups that are advocating resistance,” she said. “They think they are hurting the government. They are really hurting themselves and their communities.”

Good day everyone.

With the crappy weather we are having here, I did not want to get out of bed this morning. And now my vacation is over and I have to work late tonight since the Knicks are playing on the West Coast.

And knowing them, they'll whine in 2012 about how they're not represented enough.

Comment by TriSec on 03/29/2010 16:27:00
Hey, I'd be happy with Texas being under-represented in the next Congress.

Let them go poop in their hats.

Comment by livingonli on 03/29/2010 16:32:39
Now if only we could keep Texas away from our textbooks. Let them dumb down their own state and let the rest of us have kids with brains.

Checking the airshow schedule for the season. Looks like we've got 3 in these parts this year.

Hey folks...a report from the jobless trenches for you.

I'm still contracting, but I'm getting the feeling that the place doesn't want to play ball in regards to something more permanent.

So I have very discreetly started floating my resume out there again. Much to my surprise, the phone is ringing a hell of a lot quicker than it did last year. And I'm being very selective this time around, too. Last year it was anything that paid enough to survive...I'm picking what I would like to do this time.

Anyway, further updates as the situation develops.

I guess the idea for a blog today petered out.

I suppose I won't be crossing the River Chuck in the usual spot tomorrow night, it's almost at street level again.

Opened the door to my wife's car and found a big puddle of water inside. Looks like it's coming in from behind the dash. Getting the cracked windshield replaced Wednesday, so they'll give it a quick check. Was able to stick a plastic bag behind the dash to direct the water to a bucket. If that's my only water problem, that's good.

Good Evening Everyone! we have returned.

Mighty interesting news about Eric Cantor today huh?

<_< I am waiting to see them blame this on the dems.

I take great comfort in hearing about the arrests of the Christian Militia Group -- Seems as tho they were planning for this to happen in April -- No one seems to want to say it, but it looks like they were trying to create another Waco like situation...
