It's one thing to be folksy, cute, clever, a person just like you and me. It's another thing to be informed -- and when it comes to politics, that is critical.

Last night was yet another in a long string of perfect examples of this. The Chris Coons / Christine O'Donnell debate. Thank Goodness the Soviet Union is our ally these days.

I could go on about her feeling "caught off guard" as she told a reporter after the debate, but that isn't the issue -- the problem is this particular crop of GOP Senate candidates. Alaskan Senate Candidate, Joe Miller has stated that the Federal Minimum wage, Social Security and unemployment benefits are unconstitutional.

California Senate Candidate Carly Fiorina is fully behind outsourcing jobs to other countries and personal golden parachutes. She too believes in cutting taxes and services --- from her millionaire perch. Nevada's nominee Sharon Angle, has been caught trashing her own party on audio tape and is busy trying to scare her potential constituents with the Sharia law bogey man. She feels that the unemployed are 'spoiled'.

In Kentucky there is Rand Paul (Aqua Bhudda). This is a guy who said he would not have voted for portions of the Civil rights Act. He wants to abolish the ADA in favor of a more "free market' approach.

Connecticut has Linda McMahon. She wants to lower the minumum wage, but didn't appear to even know what it was. This is woman who laid off 10 percent of her employees and brings home 46 million dollars a year. She's also faced certain scrutiny regarding the deaths of Wrestlers under her employ.

West Virginia GOP candidate John Raese is another one who wants to repeal the minimum wage. He also has a problem, it seems, with names that sound a little different than he is accustomed to. Names like Sonya Sotomayor who he called Sarah Manorgan

These are just a few SENATE candidates. I don't have time to mention the House or Gubernatorial races like California or New York. I could also list some of the nuttier things the incumbent GOP senators have been saying. There isn't time.

It's one thing to have a differing opinion on issues, it's entirely another to be misinformed and -- in many cases -- lying to the very people you wish to represent. In the past, candidates like these would NEVER have been considered viable for a seat in Congress. It's a sad state in this nation when people like this are praised for lying and misleading people. They have shown they do not have a firm grasp on Government or the Constitution. I wonder if they have any idea how to truly deal wish issues if they become elected.

Let's make sure that doesn't happen. Election day is 2 weeks away. There is still time to make sure they don't get elected.
