Writers Block has effectively shut this brain down right now. For now, talk amongst yourselves, I am trying to come up with something worth reading.

Morning

How about crazy tea party types or just hatful people with agenda's of personal revenge taking over HOA's and not following the laws on the books of whatever state they are in?

Sounds like someone might want to do that?

:D

It's been a hella weekend, I spent most of yesterday being emotionally burnt out.

"On a personal note, I'm a member of a union, AFTRA, and when I was working at 'Inside Edition' some years ago, the King World company tried to renege on pension benefits," said {name temporarily redacted}"AFTRA took them to court and the case was settled. If the shop had been non-union, we might have been stiffed."

Morning, folks.

Idle thought...shouldn't we be flying food and medical supplies into Benghazi?

The French started doing so today.

Maybe it might do some good....short-term in helping the people, and long-term in laying ground for future improved relations.

Anyway...

I do not think POTUS should go to Wisconsin. The media is ACHING for him to do that, so they can shift the focus and blame HIM.

Chris is right, I'd hate to see that reporter report from a war zone.

Listen, I love Terri Gross, but taking Oscar week off and rebroadcasting interviews from anyone associated with a nominated film is just plain lazy.

Has anyone seen any of these films?

I have Black Swan and the King's Speech ready to add to Netflix, and I just decided to put on The Fighter. (No knock against local filmmaking, I just don't like boxing films.) And also 127 Hours...which sounds interesting.

I will not be able to watch 127 hours. I just know I won;t be able to handle it.

We will be playing catch up for a few months ourselves. HAve seen NONE of them.

Good morning everyone.

Recovering from a busy weekend particularly the 15-hour shift on Sunday which was compounded by the Knicks game which the Knicks surprisingly won and beat the Heat after a humiliating loss to Cleveland just two nights earlier.. It did not help that MSG ended up doing a 1-hour post-game because they were waiting for a Carmelo Anthony interview and by going long I had to kill the entire overnight infomercial block.

Oh, I was exhausted.

believe it or not, there is a bit of good labor news from the Supreme court.

The U.S. Supreme Court refused to insulate the drug industry from having to pay overtime to thousands of sales representatives, turning away appeals from units of Novartis AG and Merck & Co.

The companies sought to overturn a federal appeals court’s conclusion that their salespeople are covered by a federal wage- and-hour law. The decision against the Novartis unit leaves the company with claims of as much as $100 million on behalf of 2,500 past and current employees.

Drugmakers are facing a wave of suits by sales representatives for overtime pay. More than a dozen suits have been filed, including cases against Johnson & Johnson, Bristol- Myers Squibb Co. and a GlaxoSmithKline Plc unit. Drug companies have long treated sales representatives as exempt from the overtime requirements, according to court papers filed by an industry trade group.

and -- MORE good SCOTUS news!
Check it...

Justice Sonia Sotomayor wrote the court's majority opinion over a furious dissent from Justice Antonin Scalia.

(...)

But Sotomayor said the Michigan court ruling could not stand. "At bottom, there was an ongoing emergency here where an armed shooter, whose motive for and location after the shooting were unknown, had mortally wounded Covington within a few blocks and a few minutes of the location where the police found Covington," she said.

Monday's decision is the first concerning the Constitution's confrontation clause to go against a defendant since a 2004 decision significantly strengthened the right to cross-examine witnesses.

Scalia, who has taken the lead on behalf of defendants in these cases, pilloried the court's opinion.

Well Liv, that was 15 hours on the board at time and a half, right? I only got 6 hours yesterday.

I just looked at the radar down 'that way'...there's another huge mess of rain out in West Virginia, but I'm not sure which way it's headed. We cleared off for now.

I get 10% differentials for Sunday. Time and a half kicks in for hours above 37.5

Well look at this. A Massey Mine official has been indicted for lying to the FBI
The indictment also charges Stover with attempting to impede the federal investigation by causing someone, whose identity was not revealed, to dispose of thousands of pages of security-related documents stored in a Massey building near the Upper Big Branch mine.

Happy day, I think. Too excited really.

Had a job interview today with the LED lighting company I did testing for in my previous position. And it turned out that the new engineering manager knew me from my days at my first engineering position.

So, essentially the interview went, Hi Paul how are you. This is what we need for you to do, this position was created for you, it's yours if you want it. I'm just waiting for them to make an official offer.

WHEEEE! And it's a for real job, not contracting.

My first task will be a daunting one, but I can't wait.

Comment by TriSec on 02/28/2011 19:22:33
Well damn, TR...those are the best interviews!

I got in where I am now in a similar way...I had no past with the hiring manager, but essentially all we did was trade war stories about Emdeon. (clearinghouse.)

I had the offer in hand the following day.

Good Luck!

Hello, bloggers!! I hope that you are all doing well today!

I was busy yesterday, celebrating my birthday. Today, I am home, catching up on housework.

It is depressing that Governor Scott Walker seems to be getting more of a sympathetic ear than the protesters. Shocking, but not surprising.

They're looking into it.. most likely it's a fire hazard of some kind. Plus you'd need certification beforehand for any modifications done since it's a historic landmark.

Someone also filed a court challenge to the building being locked out since it's in the state constitution that no one can be prevented from entering.
