You're so vain you probably think this [blog] is about you........ Carly Simon
Velveeta does NOT take kindly to being suckered. Not that she has been of late. Just wanted to point it out.
The majority of the American people though, don't seem to mind it. I am fascinated by this type of person. The ones that buy bottled water, watch reality TV and believe everything they hear on main stream media from the likes of Tweety, Wolf, Brit and the rest of the corporate talking heads that spew crap out of their mouths. Sadly, most of these suckers also voted for our current clam-head administration because, well, they thought Bush would be fun to have a beer with!
I fucking kid you not. If you time-traveled from the past and I told you this was how we picked our leaders you'd never believe it.
The bush mafia suckered congress into believing that Iraq had WMD's. How did this happen? Because that very nice black General, Colin Powell, well, he got up there and showed us some pictures and told us that they were chemical weapons factories and stockpiles of various and sundry deadly missiles that could be used against us and our allies. Colin Powell had a hard life and he was able to achieve success in a white mans world, CERTAINLY he wouldn't lie to us. Would he?
Then that homely, but awfully nice Condi Rice hinted something about a smoking gun and a mushroom cloud. Weeeeellll, that's enough for most folks - so off we went, again, to Iraq. This time to finish the job.
Now, somewhere along the line, the WMD's vanished but Al-Qaeda magically appeared! As if Dick Cheney climbed out of his undisclosed bunker somewhere and waved his wand - *bling* Al-Qaeda *pop*. Amazing!
Suckers.
Meantime, somewhere in a cave in Northern Pakistan..........
Now, Iran is the next build up. We have to, um......... bomb them? Why is that again? Nukes? No, according to John McCain who wants to be our next President the Iranians are training Al-Qaeda in Iraq. Yet another man who seems to be taking too many “little blue pills”. That’s the only reason I can think to give for this insane “attacking” addiction the Republicans have.
For the love of all that is Holy, can anyone be that stupid and still have a paying job, in Congress no less? This man is a Senator? Does he ever read any of the shit that comes across his desk? He's confused Sunni and Shia, two different sects with different philosophies of how their leaders are chosen. Certainly the Shi'ittes in Iran are not about to help the Sunni Al-Qaeda.
Why didn't the media pick up this little tidbit? Well, maybe there was no drunk celeb-utard with a sex tape, a missing white woman, or a pregnant man involved in the story. We may never know.
Suckers.
But, the good news is that despite the fact that the economy is in a "slight downturn", bush and our wimpy Congress will grace us with an economic stimulus of between $300 to $1200! (Not that there is anything wrong with our economy, everything is fine, just fine - be sure to keep that in mind).
Apparently we didn't do our jobs well enough. Remember, we're supposed to be helping the war effort buy "going shopping" per our decider.
So, don't forget, when you get that big check you run right off to your local big box store and support the economy.......... of China.
Sucker.
Meanwhile, our young people will continue to turn into the sheeple that the government/military/religious right wants. Where the greatest goal for a woman will be a big ass and a sex tape; and for men will be a prosthetic limb and a drug habit.
Suckers all.

I suppose I should also add to today's blog that Mr. Charles Heston has passed. A great, ham actor with a booming voice. What I respected most about him was his commitment to civil rights. (Though he was very much against rights for gays). He passed away of the same thing his hero, Ronnie Reagan, did.
No word on whether there was a gun in his cold dead hand.

Great post Velveeta,
Brings to mind one of the all-time-funniest bumbles in a long line of stumbles, mis-speaks and outright idiotic phrases to come out of dear leader's mouth, "Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice - well you can't get fooled again. " Once again he's wrong - apparently the suckas of this country are lining up for the fools parade.
I ain't buying it. Happy Sunday :D
Cheers,

Charleton Heston, while a magnificent actor, also sided with the NRA after Columbine and presided over their annual meeting despite the state asking them not to hold it there.
My opinion of him will forever be marred by the heartless attitude that their gun show was more important than the families who were shattered by gun violence.

Hi ShelaghC. How's it going?

The difference would lie in that you probably view the teevee shows for entertainment only - and don't base your life around them. I suspect you've also read a book or two!

Hi ShelaghC. How's it going?
It's been busy the last few weeks at the temp job. It ended on Friday, surprisingly one doctor asked me to contact him so he would know how things worked out for me elsewhere and the doctor I was working directly for got a farewell cake for me with a promise to write me a LoR.
Weird thing is I'm getting a mammogram this week and he'll most likely be the one to read it.....

Aww liv... At least you are making a few extra greens. I swear, not one of those people were at the party!
is it a good sign when us middle age folks have a party that starts at 4 but doesn't end until 1 am?

Well it's a good amount of time to party but is proof that we feel the need to sleep though. These days the only nights that I am out late are the ones that I am working on.

Evening all. Keerist. How many post adolescent females does it take to by one of them tampons? I will tell you 5. They all slowly circle the one buy said hygene product. None of them paying a bit of attention to the line moving ahead of them. This prolonged by weekly agony of shopping in the big box store from hell by at least 3 minutes. :thud:
Mark Steel: You couldn't make it up (unless you're Hillary, that is)
[Published: Wednesday 2, April 2008 - 09:32]
Traditionally, Democrat candidates for President start slightly radical, then try to reassure Conservative America, get in a tangle and look like idiots. But this time may be different, because Barack Obama has stuck by his friend the militant preacher, refusing to disown him, and Hillary Clinton has gone mental.
Her response to being caught lying to a military audience, when she invented a story about being under sniper fire in Bosnia, was to say it wasn't surprising she got some things wrong, seeing how she spoke millions of words every day. What a magnificent idea, that if you say lots of words some of them are bound to be fantastic lies. So if you listen carefully to horse-racing commentators they say things like "And it's Teddy's Boy still leading three furlongs out as they come up to the fourth last fence with Nip and Tuck two lengths behind by the way I fought a tiger once, punched it clean out and they're all safely over."

I know the big box store experience has addled your brain a bit, but don't generalize. It makes this post-adolescent female cranky.
hmm... I'm cranky. I must be tired.
