The Eye of the Storm: Global temps may drop this year but, alas, world still warming - http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/7329799.stm Global temperatures for 2008 will be slightly cooler than last year as a result of the cold La Nina current in the Pacific.
Mr Scaife told the BBC: "What's happened now is that La Nina has come along and depressed temperatures slightly but these changes are very small compared to the long-term climate change signal, and in a few years time we are confident that the current record temperature of 1998 will be beaten when the La Nina has ended."

Debunking the idiocy of Lindsey Graham "McCain better than Gore on climate" - http://gristmill.grist.org/story/2008/4/3/14303/56940
The key point for me is that unlike Gore -- and unlike Clinton and Obama -- McCain doesn't support the policies needed to successfully address catastrophic climate change without devastating the economy (and without an absurd over-reliance on nuclear power).
See...McBush...'the maverick'...will 'use' the green revolution in a way that decimates the economy...to 'prove the con-servative' mantra that renewables & sustainables will 'hurt the economy' for which there is zero evidence or credibility...just ask UK, Germany, Finland, Norway, etc, etc...

Melting Ice Caps May Trigger More Volcanic Eruptions - http://environment.newscientist.com/article/dn13583-melting-ice-caps-may-trigger-more-volcanic-eruptions.html
A warmer world could be a more explosive one. Global warming is having a much more profound effect than just melting ice caps – it is melting magma too.

Bush/GOP Economy Just Keeps Getting Worse -- What's Next? - http://jobsanger.blogspot.com/2008/04/economy-just-keeps-getting-worse.html
Gas and food prices are at record high levels. Housing starts have dropped by 36% and foreclosures are at a record level. Over a million more people will lose their homes this year. Food banks can't keep up with the ever-increasing demand. Bush keeps telling us the economy is strong -- that we're just experiencing a little downturn and everything will be alright. After everyone gets their $600 checks, they'll run out and spend and the economy will bounce back. I'm beginning to think the man is a simpleton.

P.M. Carpenter: The Fifth Columnist for Monday, April 7, Only on BuzzFlash.com: "In short, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-NY, is systematically delegitimizing the Democratic Party's presidential nominee. I have never seen anything like it -- and it is genuinely fascinating in all its paradoxical squalor."

Fighting Erupts In Baghdad After Week Of Calm, 'Cease fire' over again - http://www.reuters.com/article/wtMostRead/idUSL0434078820080406 Iraqi troops backed by U.S. forces battled gunmen in Baghdad's Sadr City on Sunday, a return to heavy fighting in the capital after Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr pulled his militiamen off the streets a week ago.

NAFTA Makes Rich Richer, Poor and Middle Class Poorer - http://winnipeg.indymedia.org/item.php?13245S
If you read any Canadian newspaper, you’ve been treated to the same refrain: NAFTA has been good for Canada. It has led to economic growth and jobs for Canadians. And given that it’s been so wonderful for Canada, the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP) could only make things better, right? What proponents of deep integration are not telling you is this: the notion that NAFTA has been good for average Canadians, Americans and Mexicans is a lie. The truth is that NAFTA has been responsible for growing poverty...

Brent Budowsky: Clinton Superdelegates are Easing to Obama - http://pundits.thehill.com/2008/04/04/clinton-superdelegates-are-easing-to-obama/
Behind the scenes there is private movement among some key superdelegates who support Clinton but recognize the inevitable. Public comments are starting to seep out, making the suggestion that if Hillary is behind in elected delegates and popular vote they reserve the right to switch to Obama.
Stay tuned — this is much closer to over than the pundits suggest. Obama 08

Scott Horton: Worst President Ever - http://www.harpers.org/archive/2008/04/hbc-90002804
"It would be difficult to identify a President who, facing major international and domestic crises, has failed in both as clearly as President Bush," concluded one respondent. "His domestic policies," another noted, "have had the cumulative effect of shoring up a semi-permanent aristocracy of capital that dwarfs the aristocracy of land against which the founding fathers rebelled; of encouraging a mindless retreat from science and rationalism; and of crippling the nation’s economic base."

McClatchy: A recent Gallup Poll found that 53 percent of Americans think Clinton isn't "honest and trustworthy." Just 29 percent said the same of her Democratic rival Barack Obama, and 27 percent said it of Republican John McCain.Gallup analyst Jeffrey Jones called the credibility gap between Clinton and McCain "the largest between any two candidates for any dimension tested."

Why John Edwards Can't Endorse Hillary (In His Own Words). Caught on YouTube. Edwards, "Will she be the person that is going to bring about change in this country? MUST SEE & BOOKMARK: http://www.crooksandliars.com/2008/04/06/gop-wishes-the-internet-had-never-been-invented/
An internet agitprop artist publishing the website “Republican Offenders dot com” has produced a list of 272 Republicans charged with criminal activity, 60 of which are pedophiles.
The list really has to be seen to be appreciated. Howard Dean his own self could not have thought the culture of corruption ran this wide and deep.

Regarding the latest Obama "non-issue" (Ed Schultz calling McSame a 'warmonger' at a campaign event)

Do you think Sen. Obama could have knocked it out of the park by issuing the simple statement "One does not denounce the truth"?

Thought for today:

I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

Did you register there separately? The MB requires a separate registration from the blog but you can use the same handle and password which is what I do.
