As of last night our beloved curmudgeon was still in the Hospital. I'm hoping to make contact with him today.

So for now, let's send out the vibes for his recovery.. and intestinal fortitude.

and to Modo!

Morning, comrades.

I oppose anyone attempting to usurp my title of "Blog Basket Case".

Seriously though, I've been down myself all weekend. I only saw on the book of face that Mondo was in-hospital. What the hell is going on??

Morning

I saw that late Sunday too - what the heck happened? Something in about intestinal distress?

He got some kind of intestinal viral thing I believe. I'm wondering if it is Noro Virus.

He posted his room number on the BoF -- Message me if you want it. HE told people that it was

"some sort of infection of my intestines."

Comment by Raine on 01/14/2013 14:37:20
the flucking NRA....
When 20 children and 6 adults were gunned down in Sandy Hook Elementary School exactly one month ago today, the National Rifle Association rushed to blame video games, not guns, for inspiring such mass murders. But the gun lobby seemingly lost sight of its target in the past weeks, and over the weekend released a shooting app, called “NRA: Practice Range.”

Mornin' all..

~~~~~~~~ Healin' vibes headed southbound for Mondo! ~~~~~~~~
Comment by TriSec on 01/14/2013 15:20:40
You know, when Joe Biden was having his conference, and it became obvious that the NRA wasn't going to help, he should have told them 'We'll do it without you, then. You can leave now."
And of course called a press conference right after.
How can someone want to seceede from a country they want to deport people from? :headscratch:
Comment by Raine on 01/14/2013 15:39:34
Just off the phone with Mondo --
He's hoping to be released tomorrow pending a few more tests.
Plus, the Doctors told him he needs electrolytes. Mondo needs ELECTROLYTES!
:group) I have his room Number if anyone wants to call his room. Thus far, he has had no visitors and I suspect a little audible company would do him well.
I'm kinda disappointed that POTUS didn't respond to the petitions with "Sure, go ahead". I'd love to see how all those Red states that rely on government handouts, and have most of our military bases, would fare without that support.
* sends Mondo box of Gatorade *
No wait, that would aggravate him, wouldn't it?
Oh, no. I've been there. A significant and major achievement in my recovery process, at least. (But then again, I lost a good 8 inches of colon in this ordeal....)
here is another ponderence I have.
In order to get a government job, or a security clearance to contract for the government, the FBI does a background check.
What's wrong with a check like the ones they give programmers?
Thanks to POTUS, I will write a blog this afternoon.
Comment by livingonli on 01/14/2013 16:47:28
Good morning everybody. I guess the good thing for Mondo (or as you put it in the stubby, Modo) is that his hospital at least he has decent wi-fi so he can blog. Although I do seem to be under the impression that hospitals like hotels have crappy TV selections where you only get the large broadcasters and a handful of cable networks although I think the hotels do it to bump up the pay-per-view purchases.
Mt. Auburn hospital has a giant, sucking chest wound of channel selections.
At least when I was there, the Sox were on the coast and they had NESN, so I could watch the late-night games during my restlessness.
Daytime was hellicious. They pipe in a couple of radio stations, but I spent a lot of time reading.
(Which annoyed me during chemo, too. I brought in my ipod with a bunch of music on multiple ocassions.)
Chuck Todd reminds me of Jon Lovitz.
basically, if you can't do you job kids, you are grounded, and I will do everything in my power to clean up your mess without smacking the ever loving shit out of you.
Moving into WWII geek mode for just a minute.
I learned something new over this past weekend...who knew such a thing existed?
Sir Winston and his monstrous oratory has finally disappointed me. In volume 3 of his "The Second World War", I was very much looking forward to the chapter about the action with the Bismarck. It was very disappointing reading, indeed. There are far more lively and accurate accounts out there now.
And finally, I spent a lot of time perusing the internets about certain massacres and atrocities committed during the war. I find that I seem to have an unhealthy fascination with Irma Grese at the moment. I am impressed by the SAS man that interviewed her during Nuremburg and called her "The worst human being I have ever met."
Anyway...
Lots of sports, a movie channel I think and usual basic cable crapola. Oh and the SPAN.
FiOS1 is actually the Obama presser. I figured it acted more like a Long Island news channel a la News 12 and I wasn't sure they carried any of the major speeches.
