Cat Fight Truce?

Last night I was sitting up in a chair in my bedroom doing research on what I would write about today and the TV was on mute. Then this happened:
So I set down my research materials and turned up the volume.... okay, okay, I won't lie to you! I was IN the bed watching Saturday Night Live. Lady GaGa was singing when this special report started up. Velveeta needs - desperately - her beauty rest.
A deal is in the works between the US and Iran! Could we possibly have a some sort of a future with a toned town Iran? From HuffPo:
We've had a pretty sketchy past with the country that was once called Persia. We supported the Shah during his reign and even let him into our country which precipitated the Iran Hostage Conflict under the Ayatollah Khomenei. Later, Ben Affleck would go on to win an Oscar Award thanks to that horror. The only good thing that came out of the Khomenei dictatorship was that ugly-ass beards went out of style back here in 'Merica. Good job Ayatollah! Unfortunately they would return this past summer thanks to those Boston Red Sox.
Well, you'd think news of this (the agreement, not the beards) would be good news to everyone! But alas, many Pols and Pundits on the right side of the aisle are getting their panties in a wad over this news.
Will we never get to hear "Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb-Bomb Iran" again? How sad.
Some will get up this morning - mark my words - and say that this is another tail wagging the dog situation. "Sure", they'll say, "this is just taking the focus off of the failed Heathcare.Gov website".
Eric Cantor has already come out and said he finds the possible agreement "dangerous" and "troubling". But he also says that about his wife's toenails, so he seems to repeat himself often.
Marco Rubio of Florida had this to say, "this agreement shows other rogue states that wish to go nuclear that you can obfuscate, cheat, and lie for a decade, and eventually the United States will tire and drop key demands." I applaud him for saying this without any irony whatsoever.
As for President Obama, he continues to set the bar high for future Presidents. Namely, be able to work on several things at the same time. Ah, remember the days when, during the Bush years we'd have to put the Iraq war on hold - at least here at home - while he played golf or rode his bike? Things seemed simpler in those times. Will we one day refer to them as "The Good Ol' Days"?

The agreement commits Iran to curb its nuclear activities in exchange for limited and gradual sanctions relief. It builds on the momentum of the dialogue opened during September's annual U.N. gathering, which included a 15-minute phone conversation between President Barack Obama and Iran's new president, Hassan Rouhani.
It marks a milestone between the two countries, which broke diplomatic ties 34 years ago when Iran's Islamic revolution climaxed in the storming of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran. Since then, relations between the two countries have been frigid to hostile — until the recent outreach between the two presidents.
Obama hailed the deal as putting "substantial limitations" on a nuclear program that the United States and its allies fear could be turned to nuclear weapons use.

Netanyahu sought to wash his hands of the deal six world powers reached with Iran, insisting that he had had nothing to do with what he had repeatedly called “a bad deal.†Figures close to him, however, said that he was preparing for a backlash against his leadership after staking so much on halting Iran’s nuclear efforts.
“He knows that people will be coming for him, pointing the finger at him and asking how he let this happen,†a Netanyahu aide told BuzzFeed by phone Sunday.
Confusion was quickly replaced with anger as Israelis woke to the news of the deal, reached in the early hours in Geneva, which provides Iran with much-needed sanctions relief in exchange for reductions in its enrichment program.
“All he needed to do was stop Iran. That’s all we elected him to do for us, and we elected him twice in a row on that promise,†Israeli schoolteacher Mordechai Ben Yishai told Israel’s army radio Sunday morning. “As far as I’m concerned he failed. He was all hot air and no results.â€
