Republican Push Poll

I mentioned this in the comments of the Paint By Numbers blog today...
My brother is a registered independent in a suburb of Atlanta, GA. Yesterday, he received a letter and questionnaire from the Republican party. The letter contained his (independent) registration number, and addressed him as “Fellow Republican”.
The questionnaire was a push poll of the nastiest variety. Sample questions:
“Should Republicans do everything they can to prevent liberal Democrats from repealing the USA Patriot Act and other important laws that help our intelligence agencies protect America?”
“Should we do everything we can to stop Democrats from weakening border security?”
“Should Republicans fight for a balanced budget?” (why start now? :rofl:)
I scanned the letter and the questionnaire. The resultant images are large, so rather than post them here, I uploaded them to the blog’s site, and have provided the links to the images here, so you can see them for yourself:

Dear Mr. Robert M. "Mike" Duncan;
Why, I'd love to donate money to your census to ensure that we can unify our Republican base and retain a conservative Legislative agenda.
However, due to the recent "slowdown" in our economy, I can no more afford to send you money than I can to fill my Hummer's gas tank! In fact, I have recently had to curtail my service to my Country and the fight of Global War on Terror (i.e. shopping and consuming) because my job has had to cut back my hours.
"Mike", you know how important I believe in this cause - so I want to point out a small problem in your census. I am returning the census with my questionnaire completed, as well as some grammatical corrections.
As someone who firmly believes, like yourself, in the power and testament to Godly homeschooling, it reflects badly on us to include typo's in our adverts and letters. The proper term is "Democratic President and "to expose the Democrats attempts..." as well as several other places. You seem to have some sort of stigma with that word!
Other than that, the letter and issues are important ones and I will refresh myself on the issues discussed in this letter right away. I plan to study and meditate on these very things while sitting for quite some time on my morning "sitting" spot. This letter deserves some quiet reflection, and before enclosing it in the envelop - I want to thoroughly anoint it with my inner essence!

), interesting stuff, while 4Fers are mulling over their responses to the GOP Push Poll/Census, please check out my most recent post over at my blog and please consider taking action to help stop the funding for this god-awful war. There are links to the FCNL (Friends Committee on National Legislation) that offer two easy ways to express your opinion about continued financing of the fiasco in Iraq. No money is involved - unless you'd like to support the work of the FCNL (an organization that does amazing work in furtherance of peace and justice). Thank you so much for whatever you can do to help end this war 
I'm off to an Obama "Register to Vote" rally in downtown Tulsa (I think it is part of the national effort that Steph is supporting in LA). Anyway, hope you all have a great weekend. :D

I have been pretty angry since receiving my push poll in the mail Monday. Its time to use the media to attack this type of dishonest propaganda. Letters to the editor, calls to talk shows may help. If we make an effort to get Stewart, Colbert, Maher, et. al. to make fun of this evil it might help. Lets turn this around on the plutocrats
