Had to make a metro run this Morning.
Author: Raine    Date: 05/01/2014 12:52:28

It's lovely when the bus just completely breezes by and fails to pick up the people (as in more than one person) waiting to get on.

So off to deliver a certain to the Metro …

Fun!

aahhh, I see, I've always believed the death penalty to be a form for mental/emotional torture, this just validates that its even physical torture

Wait until you get a chance to watch the Maddow segment. It's worth it.

It horrifying. I know that Mondo knows a lot about this subject as well.

I understand the desire to remove the most vial from the "herd" (for lack of a better word) but there has to be better ways to either deter unwanted behavior, like murder, or incarcerate it.

We would spend far less money by incarnating for laid. The idea of the Death penalty is never going to be a deterrent for the person on death row. The idea that the Death penalty as in incentive to not kill doesn't work. It doesn't ever work for poor people.

And so therefore we are killing people to try to set example… and that is messed up imo.

I was going to write about this subject today, but it is really hard to do after Rachel explained it so eloquently.

I was not always anti-death penalty. My father worked at Green haven state when this woman was killed. And i'll be honest, Her killer was a horrible waste of human life when he killed her. That man should have been in solitary before he killed a prison guard. ( and as much as I believe in women in the workplace, there are some inmates where Women should not interact with. )

Even while in Prison for life, in a state that had the death penalty, band in the VERY SAME Correction facility that housed the electric chair that was used to kill people at the time, murder didn't deter this filth from killing.

No, I agree, its far cheaper to incarcerate then put people on death row. Problem now is that we're putting everyone in jail for even the most minor thing or in some cases its becoming a badge of honor in some circles.

The whole systems needs an overhaul.

Hi all. I have a blog available Saturday, and even a title should anyone wish to develop it further. ( To Kill a Man )

Liberal confession time...a friend from my youth was murdered some decades ago. I also knew the killer quite well. I shall recuse myself from this debate for now. I'm afraid my views here may be somewhat different.

Chris is a little bit defensive… I don't think the caller was bing snarky at all.

That is why jurors are chosen who are not acquainted with victim nor perpetrator. Otherwise, justice would not be nearly as blind.

Good morning, bloggers.

As Illinois had many people on death row who did not deserve to be on death row (I think the state had 25 percent of people exonerated as they were falsely charged.), I think that there is too much room for error in the death penalty.

Someone I knew who worked at Cook County Jail said that prisoners do not feat the death penalty, but fear growing old in prison.

This year in this region (region 7) they are saying wait until after Mother's day as well.

I was never good at listening to people when it came to gardens.

It looks like I am going to be in and out for a while. No internet at home because the bill wasn't paid and FiOS got turned off. Just got to wait until the bill is paid by roomie and he is owed money by his boss which is causing the situation. It looks like until then, I just do facebook on the phone when I am home.

I have applied to over 40 teaching jobs since last night, including three in Cambridge, MA and two in Waltham, MA.

I think that I can work up a quick blog for Saturday. Perhaps a science round up.
