Here's a recent update on Plutonium release from Fukushima.
While still a serious matter, it seems the levels of plutonium contamination are either much lower than initially feared, have been contained very well and/or have been sufficiently diluted into the Pacific to not have a significant environmental impact (beyond the radiation that was already present from weapons testing & use and Chernobyl).
That said, the nuclear Cesium and Iodine releases are the real concern and will be for a long time.

Just went to pour a fresh cup of coffee, and I knock the full cup to its side spinning coffee everywhere. Freshly washed dishes are now dripping with brew, as well as the tabletop and most everything on it.
And to boot the pot is empty so I had to make another, which I was gonna do anyways, but at least now I don't have to drink the bottom of the old pot.
