"My country, right or wrong," is a thing that no patriot would think of saying except in a desperate case. It is like saying, "My mother, drunk or sober."
G. K. Chesterton (1874 - 1936)

Los Angeles (E! Online) - Don't pull out the polyester and platforms just yet, folks. It was just for a movie premiere.
For the first time in 22 years, all four ex-members of ABBA appeared together at the Swedish premiere of Mamma Mia!, starring Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth.
The Swedish pop/disco quartet—Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog—didn't perform, but throngs of fans went wild at the sight of all four together again in Stockholm.
They were joined on the red carpet and theater balcony by the stars of the soon-to-be released film. Mamma Mia! is a big-screen adaptation of the highly successful musical featuring ABBA's biggest hits, including "Dancing Queen," "Money, Money, Money" and "Take a Chance on Me."
The foursome shot to fame in the mid-'70s and performed together publicly for the last time in 1986. In 2000, they turned down $1 billion to reunite for a concert tour.

Bernadette: No, I'll join this conversation on the proviso that we stop bitching about people talking about wigs, dresses, bust sizes, penises, drugs, night clubs, and bloody Abba!
Tick: Doesn't give us much to talk about then, does it?
Bernadette: I've said it before, and I'll say it again: "No more fucking ABBA!"
Bernadette: [after Felicia tells Bernadette about her ABBA story] Are you telling me this is an ABBA turd?

I love it when gramps hates bloggers specifically. It's like being on the right list. It also shows how out of touch he is. I hope he includes it in his stump speech everywhere! The Youtubes will destroy him (I think)
- um, what was I saying?

Maybe VJ meant Mel Brooks. Although he seems to be busy these days converting his old movies into broadway shows.

You can't do that. This is a closed set.
Screw that. I work for Mel Brooks.
Not in the face! Thank you.

Evening folks!
Quite a capper to the weekend...nothing like playing lead trumpet in front of a backyard full of 50 year veterans of the music industry....(Papa TriSec and all his friends).
I managed not to get thrown off the bandstand, so all was well!
Now, I've got the Sox-Yanks, and a wee dram of scotch. (OK, a 12-ounce higball full...) and even though the Sox are the worst team in baseball and completely suck...life is good.

Gee Tri, I thought the worst team in baseball was the Washington Nationals with that awesome .378 winning percentage. Oh, wait that is that famous New England pessimism I've heard so much about.

How do you consider a team with a 52-38 record the worst in Baseball. They are doing better than either NY team.
