Good morning everyone.

I'm actually surprised that I got up considering the All-Star Game kept me at work until Quarter to 3. It was 4 AM by the time I got to bed.

Frangela and Chris...Creepy...Almost like Ice cream and Pizza.

Apologies - I had the alarm set on my phone to wake me up to write the bloggie this morning, but the charger seems to be fried, and the phone shut itself off when the battery died.

At this point I don't know if it's even worth a bother...

I got 4 1/2 hours sleep before my insurance company called and woke me up.. At least I am off today and tomorrow. I have to go take my car in to get the mirror replaced and a couple of other errands. Hopefully I will have a chance to grab a nap later.

I like to think of it as a ice cream and pretzels. Separate great, but together it's that perfect mix of salty and sweet.

Fried Pickles. . . anything that is ultimately a good thing, but initially slightly weird? Fried Pickles.

For example, Regina Spektor was 'fried pickles' for a while.

The 1936 poll data was off because they called people who had telephones when only the wealthy had phones and you would think FDR was going to lose but FDR swept the Republican opponent in that election.

Morning, folks. I got pulled into a meeting at 8:00 this morning...sorry I missed the hard deck. (8:30 with the blog).

Anyway, I didn't stay up for the whole All-Snooze game last night, but I was glad they didn't do the one thing that did annoy me about Yankee Stadium.

I was relieved when Josh Groban came out for God Bless America and he sang it straight, instead of that damn Irish Tenor singing the "Superpatriotic Histrionics" version of the song. (You know the one, with the long, semi-spoken lead-in before the real singing starts...) I *loathe* that version.

Anyway....glad to see the AL win again, that means the Sox will get home field for the 3rd series in a row!

Oh, and "Yankees Suck" notwithstanding, glad to see NY fans as Klassy as ever...

Papelbon said he was angry because when he and his pregnant wife, who is due on New Year's Eve with their first child, both participated yesterday in the All-Star parade down Sixth Avenue in Manhattan, they were heckled so badly because of his widely reported remarks [regarding closer Mariano Rivera].

"My wife told me she didn't feel safe," Papelbon ranted. "My wife just didn't feel comfortable, man, and she's pregnant with a -- little baby ... It kind of pisses you off when your family gets involved, when you've got a -- wife who's pregnant and doesn't feel safe riding in a red-carpet event.

"How would you feel? You know what I mean? They were yelling stuff. At someone pregnant. It brings a whole new thing to the mix ... All because some -- Daily News writer was looking for a headline."

911. When I'm home I don't tote my celly around from room to room and we still don't have the greatest reception in some areas for cells. At home I have 1 hard line contectted to an old slimline touch tone, the rest are cordless. Then everyone in the house has a cell. This way we're covered.
