Joined by many others, Senator Chris Murphy gave hope to a nation crying for something to be done about our violent gun culture in this nation.

He was even joined by Republican Senator Pat Toomey from Pennsylvania.

This isn't going away this time. It's been posted all around social media, and is worth reporting here:

Keep those phone calls going!
Call 1-855 331-8593. You will hear a five second message from Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence. They will then ask for your zip code and put you through to your Senator.

All deserve our thanks.

Mornin' all!

Trisec had poison ivy near his ear. For the last 10 days. It's finally clearing up.

I blame chemo; it changes you.

I've heard the body changes its tolerances every seven years or so. Didn't believe it until I hit my mid 30s and all of a sudden I had out of control allergies.

This is getting to be too much.

Britain first? OOf.

Good morning, bloggers!!

It is long past time to address the issue of out of control guns.

In some sad news that I posted on the blog yesterday, my Aunt Marlene passed away. My Mom's sister had a stroke a few months ago and never fully recovered.

Stop all the presses. Lin-Manuel Miranda is leaving Hamilton on July 9. Repeat, the world as we know is ending on July 9.

This is pretty big... It's Virginia:

PPP's new Virginia poll, conducted entirely after Sunday's shooting in Orlando, finds broad support from voters in the state for a variety of gun control measures:

-88% of voters support background checks on all gun purchases, compared to only 8% who oppose them. That includes support from 93% of Democrats, 87% of independents, and 83% of Republicans.

-86% of voters support barring those on the Terrorist Watch list from buying guns, to only 7% who are opposed to taking that step. 89% of Democrats, 85% of Republicans, and 84% of independents support that change.

-55% of voters support banning assault weapons to only 33% opposed to such a ban. That is supported by Democrats (75/16) and independents (49/41), while Republicans (35/47) are against it.

It is past time that we should tell the greedy people to go to hell and enact the will of the people.

I'm surprised that there isn't pitchfork and torch wielding mob outside the NRA HQ in Fairfax screaming for the head of Wayne LaPierre.

I'm not talking protests. I am talking huge unruly mobs, burning LaPierre in effigy, blocking traffic and generally misbehaving.

They would, but it's so hard to find parking. And then there's the traffic...
