A Basketfull of Deplorables
Author: BobR    Date: 09/14/2016 13:18:27

Ever since I heard the phrase "Basket of Deplorables", I haven't been able to get it out of my mind. I thought it should be the name of a book. So - with apologies to Edward Gorey and "The Gashlycrumb Tinies", here is my rendition of "A Basketful of Deplorables"...

http://www.barnesandnoble.com/blog/barnesy/wp-content/uploads/2015/10/TheGashlycrumbTinies.jpg

A is for Ann Coulter, a harpie for life
B is for Steve Bannon, who beat up his wife
C is for Chris Christie, who swallowed his soul
D is for David Duke, a klan man a-hole
E is for Elephant, the sad GOP
F is for Frank Gaffney, pollster and SOB
G is for Newt Gingrich, who's - frankly - a douche
H is for Sean Hannity, who needs a punch in the bouche
I is for Islamophobe, Trump's supporters are some
J is for Jack Kingston, Trump supporter so dumb
K is for Katrina Pierson, surrogate with no brain
L is for Rush Limbaugh, our society's stain
M is for Paul Manafort, most despots his allies
N is for Nazi, at all of Trump's rallies
O is for Omarosa, a suck-up for Trump
P is for Reince Priebus, a cancerous lump
Q is for Queer Fear, his supporters all feel
R is for Racist, how Trump seals the deal
S is for sexist, vile mansplainers all,
T is Trump, never lacking in gall,
U is for uneducated, the crowd cheering wildly
V is for Vladimir, Trump supporter (though mildly)
W is for white folks who say "ALL lives matter"
X is for Xenophobe, telling refugees "scatter!"
Y is for Yahoo, non-white people hating
Z is for Zero, their empathy rating

So to all the deplorables a-stink in their basket
Here's hoping Trump's candidacy lands in a casket

(special thanks to Raine who helped with a couple of the letters)

Well Done,Bob!! Good morning!!

C could also be for conflicts of interest, as a story in Newsweek highlights. Hmm, there is a political system that combines business and government interests. I think it begins with the letter F. Hmm, can you answer that, Mr. Trump?

I posted the video, After I posted it, I realized it was the wrong link. Then, my computer overheated and I had to head out. So, here is the video that Thom Hartmann referred to comparing Trump statements to those of Hitler and Joseph Goebbels. Sorry for the confusion.

The ad was from Citizen Super Pac.

The ad was from Citizen Super Pac.

I did a little research on the PAC, and (this is not on you, Will. please know that) I found that this is a GOP PAC, run by Senator Shelby.
Citizen Super PAC, as the group is called, is run by a group of former Senate Republican political operatives and has so far spent more than $300,000 on ads supporting Shelby. The group has also shelled out $50,000 on ads opposing Shelby’s toughest GOP primary contender, McConnell, a conservative Birmingham businessman who is running as a political outsider.

Ironically, the super PAC brands itself as a vehicle to amplify the voices of average citizens.

“Transparency is one of our founding principles. It’s why we created the first platform that gives the American people the power to sponsor political speech directly,” one of the super PAC’s cofounders told the Montgomery Advertiser. But the Advertiser reported that the “PAC had received no online pledges to help finance the Shelby ads.”

But none of the $400,000 that came to the PAC Citizens for a Sound Government can be traced, and a big chunk of the super PAC’s receipts—$100,000—comes from a corporate PAC dubbed New Generation, which has direct ties to coal behemoth Murray Energy Corporation—hardly a mouthpiece for average citizens.

They pulled the ad you meant to link.
Citizen Super PAC deleted their own original YouTube upload because it was having the opposite effect from what they intended, an ironic backfire to be sure. They've inadvertently made Trump look like a fucking badass by putting him side by side with the greatest public orator in human history.

They broke the cardinal rule of trying to make someone look evil by comparing them to the Fuhrer. You _never_ do subtitling on Hitler's speeches. Once you show the sheep what Hitler was actually saying the intricate narrative of lies just start unraveling. You break the vague "evil man" facade so carefully constructed and show him as the loving patriot of Germany he was.

Excellent Bobber! I love Edward Gorey and this fits in with his dark humor. Sadly, this people are all too real and dangerous.
