Has it really only been less than a week? pResident tRump was coronated on Friday in a sparsely attended event on a drizzly gray winter day. The weather was a harbinger of what was to come. He is quickly destroying government as we know it, and putting in place an opaque dictatorship, where everything in every department must be cleared through him first, and he controls all communication to the outside world (also known as the United States - the people who employ him).

It started when the Park Service started tweeting factual information about crowd sizes with regards to tRump's inauguration, President Obama's inauguration, and the Women's March. tRump seems very sensitive whenever people mention size, and sent his familiar out to scream at the press and deride them for reporting facts. KellyAnne Conway let us all know that the tRump administration prefers their "alternative facts" (AKA "lies" AKA "propaganda").

To ensure no more actual facts get released, Der Führer pResident tRump instructed EVERY federal worker to halt all external communication. This is how autocrats do it. When we talked about building a wall, he apparently meant around the executive branch.

In that vein, he has also prohibited government scientists from sharing their work. In other words - climate science stays bottled up. Medical info stays bottled up. All the good things that we the taxpayers get out of their work stays behind tRumps wall.

The National Park Service has found a way to circumvent the gag order by creating an "unofficial" twitter feed that is outside of federal jurisdiction. In what may be a tweak at tRump's "alternative facts" is that the twitter handle is "@AltNatParkSer".

It's pretty clear that tRump's number one priority is himself and his ego. He proclaimed his inauguration day a day of patriotic devotion. In today's Washington Express, he has been upset by the reality that he lost the popular vote, and people see him as illegitimate:
Trump, they say has been resentful, even furious, at what he views as the media's failure to reflect the magnitude of his achievements, and he feels demoralized that the public's perception of his presidency so far does not necessarily align with his own sense of accomplishment.

[...]

... two people close to Trump said he expected his coverage to turn more favorable once he took office. Instead, it's gotten worse.

The bad press over the weekend has not allowed Trump to "enjoy" the White House as he feels he deserves, according to one person who has spoken with him.

Oh boo-fucking-hoo. Time to put on your adult panties, Donny, and act like a president instead of spoiled child. Regardless of party, Americans prefer a transparent government, since they are after all paying for it. You can't create an alternative reality - it will not hold.

Maybe if you started acting like a legitimate president, people might start treating you like one. Respect is earned - so earn it.

If you think that's bad you should see her god awful comedy routine from the mid-90s.

Also, she looks just as bony/ugly/mannish back then as she does now.

Morning

So my anxiety is through the roof - yay. Like Raine said earlier this week, I too am already tired. Having a hard time seeing any light that's not a oncoming train.

Oh I think he will. They are using him to rubberstamp all this truly awfulness. Even if he goes we get stuck with Pence who is just as bad, but almost slimier. Then I start to worry about 2018 and if we will even get back anything cause we were so sure we'd have some control after this election.

Good morning, bloggers!!

First, for some good news - something that seems to be in short supply. I have a few good job leads, including one out in the Boston area.

Now, back to reality in our era. Agent Orange is threatening/promising to send the Feds to Chicago. How about more jobs programs and increasing federal resources while still respecting the Constitution?: I am not holding my breath on either of those as I need oxygen. (Although I am told that I look good in blue.)

I am not surprised. I have a bad feeling that we will soon see a push for more war in the Middle East.

Morning, comrades.

As I just noted on the book of face - that's an awful lot of dictating, and not a lot of presiding so far, isn't it?

A little parable for POTUS on how governing actually works:

Bonus points for me for being able to work "The Wire" into the broader discussion of Cheetolini's unfitness for the job.

Mini-Blog:

Back in 1996, my then-Senator Kennedy crafted a piece of legislation called the "Kennedy-Cassembaum Act". You probably know it better as "HIPAA". Among the many things it did was standardize data transactions among healthcare entities, and it created an entire industry - something I have been working in for the past 20 years.

I've always thought that perhaps I'd like to put my money where my mouth is, and maybe work for the Veteran's Administration some day, even if it's just an office drone in the back of the hospital in Bedford.

Mr. Trump just signed an executive order that prevents any such entity from hiring me.

Kennedy - made jobs.
Trump - took them away.

It really seems like they are determined to bring the Walker and Brownback agenda onto a federal level. Even if Cheetolini is pushed out or resigns, we will still be fucked. It's scary to think we might need another economic crash like 2008 in order to get these bastards out. Kansas is a disaster area because of Brownback. And there's still the possibility of more far right parties coming to power in Europe.

So um Carson just flew right though with the Dems voting for him - WTF is going on?!

Comment by Raine on 01/25/2017 19:15:10
This is problematic -- and f*cked up.
White House press secretary Sean Spicer suggested Wednesday that President Donald Trump's investigation into election fraud he claims cost him the popular vote will focus on "urban areas" in primarily Democratic states like New York and California.

"This isn't just about the 2016 election. This is about the integrity of our voting system," Spicer said, responding to a reporter's question on Trump's announcement that he will order an investigation into voter fraud.

"Attorneys who were representing the President-elect during the recounts in several states emphatically stated 'All available evidence suggests the 2016 election was not tainted by fraud or mistake,'" the reporter pressed. "How do you square those two things?"

"There's a lot of states that we didn't compete in where that's not necessarily the case. You look at California and New York, we didn't look at those two states in particular," Spicer said. "I mean, as the president has noted before, he campaigned to win the electoral college, not the popular vote."

The Dems really need to build a backbone. At this point, we should do to Trump what McConnell and the Repubs did to Obama.

No way NY or California are going to stand for this.
