Sunday Sports!
Author: BobR    Date: 10/28/2007 15:40:29

Good morning... (is it still morning?) Looks like it was a great day for Georgia fans yesterday... Even bigger for boston... they are now 3-0 in the World series... I am sure Tri will give us a new bloggie for the game tonite . The game starts at 8:29 in colorado...

Today tho, I plan on watching

Vs.

In LONDON!

The Giants are second in the NFC East with a record of 5-2... And Miami , well they are 0-7... 4th in the AFC east.

It should be fun to watch, the weather is supposed to be rainy or overcast... chance of rain about 60%, about 60 degrees. It starts here in the east at 1 pm, but at 6 pm in England. Sounds like football weather to me!

Also , for our Nascar Fans... Today is the PepBoys 500 at the Atlanta Motor Speedway.

And finally, for our hunting fans... Dick Cheney is scheduled to be arriving Dutchess County NY tonite, for tomorrow's Fowl Dick Faceoff... It's not a spectator sport for everyone...

Alright, well, the beer is on ice... we are making some jalpeno cheese dip for lunch... and as always coffee is on! See you inside!
:peace:

So can someone please explain to me why games start at 829???!?!?!?

Oh, and since you all mosied inside, let me say that while it is fun to see a game played in london... I guess the NFL is trying to edumacate those europeans...

I DO NOT AT ALLL like the idea that one day they will try to have the Super bowl there. That is about the dumbest Idea if have heard in a long time.

(this is Raine by the way, on the wrong computer...

The dark place in my mind tells me they could still blow this.

But the demon is not as strong as 2004...

So right now we have the Giants game on here in New York

and the 4 PM game is the Bills-Jets game. Boy, talk about a match of crap.

I'd rather have the Skins-Pats game myself.

I posted Saturday about the whole games in prime-time dealie. I'll grab it an re-post.

Comment by livingonli on 10/28/2007 17:23:03
Re-post from yesterday. It's all about the $ from the TV deals.

The weekend games were moved to prime time as part of the TV contract. The networks felt they could only get the most viewers and charge the most for advertising by airing the games in prime time. (Even though it's only prime time on the east coast). That's why the games don't start until 8:30 and thanks to longer commercial breaks the games don't end until well past Midnight on the east coast.

Interesting when I flip through my old TV guides and look at when all the games were played in the afternoon back in the 50's and 60's

I guess it's busy when neo-Dad is in the house.

BTW, all 3 NY hockey teams lost yesterday and this was the night the Devils opened their new arena in Newark and the Rangers lost to the Leafs 4-1 at the Garden. Isles also lost at home.

Red Sox Attempt to break Fabled *Curse Of Relief Pitcher Curtis Leskanic* {quote]The Boston Red Sox, who have failed to win a single World Series since the departure of relief pitcher Curtis Leskanic in 2004, are attempting to defy the odds and do the impossible: reverse the curse of the journeyman reliever whose ghost has haunted this team since the mid-2000s.

The only game here is the Bills-Jets game. Fox New York is running local programming until 7.

It isn't that I am a pat's fan, I just want my team to jump by leaps and bounds in thier division.. ;) Hey did you know the pats were given a larger fine for spying than anyone in the Bush administration for outing Valerie plame?

Comment by Raine on 10/28/2007 22:12:24
Oh Boy, I simply cannot wait till 8:29 tonite. And you bet your ass I am gonna see if that is when the first pitch goes off.

Break out the stop watch and then throw it at the Fox executives.

wow... HEy dude, they still aren't the dolphins! I know... not good timing... I know you love the JEt's. My Mom's B/f does too.

I'm not really a Jets fan, so it's no skin off my nose.

Fox here just put on the tail end of the Pats-Redskins massacre since they still air the OT before going to the World Series.

Comment by livingonli on 10/28/2007 23:10:10
It's just annoying with two teams that we get screwed more often by home telecast TV rules that keep us from getting network doubleheaders.

Comment by TriSec on 10/28/2007 23:31:06
Who was that against the Patriots somewhere below?

Why do you hate America?

World Series blog is open!
