I think I know why tRump decided to run for president: He heard the phrase "the buck stops here".

Seriously though, he's always been a greedy self-centered asshole. Why anyone thought he'd suddenly rise to the office once attained is beyond me. His primary concern always has and always will be himself. We've all seen the recent photo where he hogs the umbrella, forcing his wife and child to fend for themselves:

http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2018/01/16/13/482CAD4700000578-5273011-Also_not_pictured_under_the_umbrella_was_wife_Melania_47_Trump_k-a-4_1516108213414.jpg

If he's not going to put his family before himself, why would anyone think he'd put the country before himself? That leads into this not-so-shocking-but-still-shocking revelation that he thinks a terrorist attack might be good for him politically:

“In private conversations,” said the Post, “Trump has told advisers that he doesn’t think the 2018 election has to be as bad as others are predicting. He has referenced the 2002 midterms, when George W. Bush and Republicans fared better after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, these people said.”

Could this be a precursor to a LIHOP event? (I don't think he's capable of a MIHOP event). That he would even consider a terrorist attack as a positive shows how depraved his mind is.

This follows a story from last year that is completely relevant with a government shutdown looming tomorrow night, where tRump mused that a government shutdown might be good for him. Forget how bad it would be for military families, civil servants who go to work each day trying to do their part to make the country a better place for all of us, park rangers, etc. Screw everyone else if it helps him in some small way. Does he think this will bring the Mueller investigation to a stop?

A president's number one concern and responsibility should be "we, the people". For tRump, it's "me, the person".

Morning

Like you said, he's greedy, I'm sure he wants both.

I didn't include this in the blog, but I think it's very telling about tRump:

Initially, Trump loved news media coverage of his deal this fall with Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) that extended government spending and increased the debt limit for three months. The move was heralded by Democrats as a significant victory, while also allowing Republicans to jump-start their debate over tax cuts. In the wake of the deal, Trump even called Schumer and Pelosi to rave about their agreement.

But the more Trump talked to advisers, read polls and watched developments on Capitol Hill, the more he became frustrated that he was “looking like the chump in the deal,” according to one person who spoke to him about the issue, who along with others insisted on anonymity to speak candidly. This time, Trump wants his political base to see him as winning the contest, two advisers said.

It wasn't about whether the deal was good or bad - it was all about how it made him look. He needs to be perceived as a "winner", regardless of whether the end result is good or bad.

This is living with a madman.

Sorry just listening to a metal cover of "Despecito." Because I live in a world where it is a thing!

I have no doubts a shutdown would be good for him. Look at how badly Republicans fared after the last shutdown.

That explains Sheriff Clarks visit to Russia on behalf of the NRA.

I'd say no. The way these guys act they're trying to make up for decades without robber barons.

Who is more corrupt? Trump or Warren G. Harding?

Trump, hands down. There was very little dirt on Harding's hands. It was the people around him.

Where is it going to be? Is it in the same place every year?

Summit Bechtel Reserve

This was built for the Centennial Jamboree (2010), trending as "Philmont East".

It's somewhere near a place called "Glen Jean, West Virginia"
