Morning, comrades.

TriSec with a rare and blessed day off - I am lounging at home today and looking deep into some av-dorkery.

Looky what I discovered!

One curiosity on the Canada–U.S. border is the presence of six airports that straddle the borderline. The airports were built prior to the U.S. entry into World War II as a way to legally transfer U.S.-built aircraft such as the Lockheed Hudson to Canada under the provisions of the Lend-Lease Act. In the interest of maintaining neutrality, U.S. military pilots were forbidden to deliver combat aircraft to Canada. The aircraft were flown to the border, landed, and then at night towed on their wheels over the border by tractors or horses. The next day the planes were crewed by RCAF pilots and flown to other locations, typically airbases in Eastern Canada, from where they were often flown to the United Kingdom and deployed in the Battle of the Atlantic.

Typical rabbit-hole stuff, I guess.

But all serious for just a moment. Having just been in NYC, I was reminded that today is actually the 25th anniversary of the first WTC attack.

That's it? To put themselves in the line of fire and at the expense of owning and operating a weapon? Only $1000?

The more Cadet Bone Spurs talks, the more of an asshole he proves to be. He's been watching too many shoot 'em ups.

Agreed. And I hesitate to use the word "man" with him any longer. He's a human monster.

I must be hallucinating, badly. That's the only explanation for this sort of thing.

Obama is still president, and this is all some drug-induced nightmarish haze of mine?

Please?

Fuck.

Lets break this down for a woman teacher:
Cost of a Glock 19 $450 or so
Cost of concealed carry permit for Florida $102
Concealed carry class @ local gun store $50.00
Cost of ammo: $8.00-$12.00 for 50 rounds depending on manufacture. S+
Gunlock $8.99
Concealed carry purse YMMV. anywhere from $60 to $265
Extra magazine: $14:00
Total about $710 this is excluding any range time.
For funsies, lets add in a kevlar vest: 230.00

Not to mention that you might be killed by the cops for waiving a gun around.

This probably didn't make the national news.

A mentally disturbed person walked into a public library here in Winchester, MA with a hunting knife and stabbed someone to death.

Prosecutors said Deane Kenny Stryker, 22, was stabbed nearly two dozen times by Yao on Saturday. She was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

“This was a vicious unprovoked attack in a public place,” prosecutor Kate Cimini said.

Prosecutors allege Yao used a 10-inch hunting knife to attack the victim from behind.

Stryker was studying in the reading room when the assault began. Prosecutors said at first, she was able to get away from Yao.

“Ms. Stryker managed to get up and get to the front lobby but the defendant pursued her and continued attacking her with the knife,” Cimini said.

According to police, Stryker was stabbed 20 times. A 77-year-old man was also injured when he tried to stop the attack.

Again, ONE person is dead. That doesn't make it any less tragic or senseless than any other person that was killed by violence on that same day.

But this was Massachusetts. Try to imagine the carnage that would have ensued in an "easy-gun" state.

Florida, Texas, Alabama, Mississippi, Oklahoma....I'm looking at YOU.

I saw it since I get the daily e-mail from the Boston Globe although I haven't stepped up to pay for digital access because my finances are tight.
