Morning!
Well mom and I were two of the 50,000 last night and didn't get home until almost midnight but it was worth it. :D
And we got up at 4:30am to get out to wait in line until the polls open this morning. I have NEVER seen our polling place with a line, it was frickin' amazing. But with less the 5hrs sleep we voted happily and noticed on leaving that the line had grown outside. We passed 3 other polling stations on the way to work, everyone was packed with lines well out the doors.
I really believe change is only 24 hours away!

And now you, Ms. Mala, have the honour of making mefor the first time today!

In case anyone didn't know:
Why we vote on Tuesday:
...people used to have to travel overnight to their polling location. (In 1845, horse was the preferred method of transport.) In an effort to avoid religious days of rest, Congress chose Tuesday, leaving Monday and Wednesday as travel days. Tuesday was voting (and horse-resting) day.
Also, Freebies today:
Starbucks is giving away a tall cup of brewed coffee on the house.
Between 5 and 8pm, Ben and Jerry's is celebrating democracy by giving away a free scoop of ice cream.
Krispy Kreme is giving away a star-shaped doughnut with "patriotic sprinkles" to anyone wearing an "I Voted" sticker.

Another cup of coffee, check.
Another breakfast (sweet, sticky thing this time), check.
What time is it?

I was seeing on the news here last night that GA Sec. of State "Killjoy" Karen Handel is saying that the freebies violate election laws and may incur $5000 fines for each"offense".
Lessee, no freebies, no extended early voting, no late voting tonight... must be a Republican. :P

Can we get a group hug?

Hmm.. Voters in Manhattan are getting demands from poll workers to show their IDs.
In NY State this is ILLEGAL.

Raine,
It was the perfect movie to see the night before the election (although I already voted on Friday) - I cried too, Mala
