This is the final blog of a pretty shitty year. I really don't know how else to put it. Yesterday, Bob put it perfectly, Put a Fork in It.

I want to tell you all something. I am so grateful to have gone through this year with each and every member of our little corner of the internet. Having you around popping in and out has made this hellscape a little bit easier, and that little bit truly goes a long way.

12 years ago, we were eagerly waiting and planning to attend the Inauguration of President Barack Obama. It would be the first time Mala, Bob and the Tri-Sec family would be together. It was cold that day but it was joyful. Leading up to that meeting there was a palpable sign that things were finally going to change. I feel that way again.

Things will change. and like twelve years ago, it's important to remember this ship will not turnaround overnight. Unfortunately, the damage that this maladministration has done may be more destructive than the 8 years of the Bush regime. The Bush regime was greedy and used that as a tool to keep power. This time hate and evil have been the driver in the White House.

Pure White Evil Hatred.

The type of damage by that evil is different than that caused by an illegal war, or bad economic policies. In 4 years, we have been suffering an attempt of death by one cut after another to the moral and the psyche of our nation. All of it has been happening unabashedly right in front of our eyes. It's the pain only an abuser can inflict upon its victims, ones that do not have the means to escape their abuser.

2020 might be ending, but we have to hang on for 20 more days so we can begin to heal and recover from this dark chapter of life. I wish we didn't have to suffer from this, but I could not imagine it without you, as strange as that may sound.

We will build back better. We will because of all we have gone through together. All of the things that hurt or made us smile; all the struggles and all the joyous moments all of those things -- the ups and the downs have prepared us to be a part of the recovery of the collective soul of this nation.

A single piece of sand does not make a beach until millions of pieces come together. Let's be a part of the beach. I'll see you next year-- I cannot wait to hug you all.

Peace & Love,
Raine

Definitely will be saying "Happy New Year" twice. The second time at noon on Jan 20th.

Let's just hope Fat Donnie can do any damage on January 6th even with his seditious lackeys in Congress.

Afternoon! *tackle*

Omg 12 years?! WOW! You guys are my rock! Hope you know that. I adore each and everyone of you

Sorry to be so late but was at the doc. Soooooo I finally over came a little bit of the fear I have of going to the doc (too many docs like to be fat shamey even if it just a cold so I stopped going for anything). For a few years now I've had swelling in my legs and this year it got to be too much, and of course during a pandemic, so I sucked it up and went to Kaiser. The doc there knew right away what the issue is - Lymphedema. She told me, that while yes I have a weight issue this is something we will tackle first, the weight stuff will come much later. I love that she but me first and not my weight.

Anyway, since a little before Halloween I've been doing compression therapy on my lower legs and ankles. The change has been crazy (Down 5 inches in my left leg, and 4 in my right). I had appointment about once a month since then, so that's why I've been late some days I have a goal - BOOTS for 2021, heck I"ll even take ankle boots

Just wanted to share a bit of good news is pretty much the Year of Suck (every month was February).

This is absolute subhuman scum.

I would "fire" him too - that is, take him out back and burn him at the stake, since that's the only thing worthy.

Ah yes - and twelve years. How naive and foolish we all were then.

There were two million of us standing on the mall. We could have changed things.

Instead, the cycle repeats itself, and once again we'll be "standing on the mall" hoping for change that will never come.

Mitch McConnell is the real enemy.

Good morning and Happy New Year, bloggers!!!!

In some good news, Blogger Joe arrived yesterday -- about 8 days later than the expected delivery date on the envelope. In other good news, I sent out a cover letter and resume to a school on the West Coast last night.

At 10 PM my time, I fell asleep and was awakened by fireworks that seemed less noisy than last year.

TriSec, as for the pharmacist in Wisconsin, part of me wants to turn him over to the tender mercies of someone who believes that he is the reincarnation of Vlad Tepes the Impaler.
